I bought this book before I met Peter Gurney and was delighted by its contents. It offers a no nonsense guide to the many cavy varieties, but demonstrates that the not-so-perfect specimens make just as good (if not better!) pets. Peter's genuine affection comes through every line and I challenge anyone to read the story of Pearl the Silver Agouti with a dry eye.
By the way, my own piggy's father is in the book -- Mungo!

This is THE book for any guinea pig fanatic - filled with lovely photos and amusing and sometimes tear-jerking anecdotes. A must for any GP or Peter Gurney fan!
This book is very informative but Peter should of had more information other than guinea pig breeds mentioned in this book, it is a good book though. I also have to mention some words were spelled wrong, Peter's love for guinea pigs is cute.
