In reference to the previous review, yes, there is a mention of bonus tracks in the booklet. My guess is, someone said copy the booklet, and that is what someone did. There is no mention of the bonus tracks on the rear cover, and that is what is on the album.
What is in it? One Blu-ray disc, the booklet, and code for HD download.
Sound system used: Oppo Blu-ray, Onkyo processor, McIntosh for most of the rest.
Sound choice: 2.0 PCM. There are two other stereo choices. There is no surround mix. (That would've helped)
First impression: Some may say it is lush, I would say it is exceptionally clean. No artifacts, no distortion, no odd remastering. The highs are smooth and crisp. The bass is a little mellow, except on Mercy, Mercy Me. Piano sounds exceptional on the early tracks, a bit less on the second half.
What was lacking? Despite the clarity, you wonder at first what is lacking. Finally, you realize this was supposed to be accompanied by an orchestra, at least in part. There is a decided lack of openness and spaciousness. It sounds more like a strict studio album in that regard. Since it's Blu-ray you aren't buying it for the car, and that seems to be a serious oversight.
