Yep, if you've already got the original game and you're interested in this new content, you may as well throw it away.

it's like pretty much like a GOTY edition with some tweaked features and abit of additional content. alot of the big games from each year are later re-released in a 'goty' edition, but not many are priced as reasonably as DD:DA; £13.99 (at time of writing) is a bargain imo. i've pre-ordered as i couldn't get on with the menus or the lack of fast travel options in the vanilla game - both amended/tweaked for this release. excellent stuff :)

Shouldn't the additional content also be available on PSN for players who already have the game? Much like how the additional content for Dark Souls, 'Artorias of The Abyss', got released not only on disc, but on PSN too.

It's all down to whether you think £13.99 is good for additional content alone, if you've already got the game. It is nice for new players however.

This DLC is a full-blown expansion. The RRP is actually £20 so this is a bargain based on all the stuff it comes with, as well as the original game. If any of you want more details on what's included, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntZhEMlV-t0

I have the original game but at £13.99, with Free Delivery, I'll probably buy this one and offer the 1st edition to a friend. :-P

plus the front cover of this edition looks like something by the band 'amon amarth'

sweet :)

Apparently they said it's not "possible" to make this expansion as a download DLC due to certain problems.

Hey at this price who cares my still sealed original copy which I got cheap is on ebay and ordered this one :)

Any ideas of whether players will be able to use saved games from the original DG game?!

Posted on 30 Jan 2013 13:29:44 GMT
yes they will - any progress from the original game will be fully imported and the new menu etc will be seamlessly intergrated. players with a save file from the original release will also get 100,000 rift crystals, unlimited ferrystones and some kind of special armour for free as well :)

To quote a philosopher of our age:

Well, that seals it - I'm buying the expansion.

"Apparently they said it's not "possible" to make this expansion as a download DLC due to certain problems."

we know this can happen - look at skyrim! maybe capcom wanted to avoid the debacle bethesda have gone through and decided to just re-release the whole game?
