Product Description

Product Description

This romantic tale begins where "To Have His Cake (and Eat It Too)", the amorous, provocative, and entertaining adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”, finished.

Having overcome the many seeming obstacles to marrying Miss Elizabeth Bennet, his former employee and the woman of his dreams, Fitzwilliam Darcy must now reaffirm his promise to be a man truly worthy of her affections.

Confronted, out of the blue, with the intimate knowledge of her husband’s rakish past, Elizabeth too is obliged to reconsider long held tenets that otherwise threaten to tear them apart.

If you enjoyed "To Have His Cake (and Eat It Too)", you will take pleasure in reading of what happens after the honeymoon is over.

Intended for Mature Audiences.

What He Would Not Do: Mr. Darcy's Tale Continues ~ A Regency historical fiction adaptation of Jane Austen's timeless classic Pride and Prejudice.

It wasn't a bad read but the first book in the series, "To have his cake and eat it too, " was much better? It's a bit light weight so expect to breeze through this one pretty quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars What He Would Not Do 25 Mar 2011

I enjoyed this sequel as it showed that Elizabeth had to learn that her beliefs and ideas could not be forced on others and that she didn't really consider that she was still very prejudice believing that her way of seeing things was the only way. It made Elizabeth stop and think about how others saw her stubborness and not letting others see things their way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Man Other Than Mr. Darcy 30 April 2011
By Alia's Thoughts - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The book started off confusing for me, It did not flow well with the first book. I also felt that it was a little slow. I lost all patience once the book added another man as a love interest for Elizabeth. I found it very annoying and almost put the book down. I enjoyed the first book so much, I just forced myself to keep reading, skipping most of the middle. The plot could have been great however, the author just stayed on the new characters too long, without showing any hope for repair with Elizabeth and Darcy, that is not P&P for me. Darcy became weak in the book, he ran away too much, too many selfish acts, never fixing his mistakes. It just didn't line up to the man he is, or could be, NO CONFIDENCE, it sucked. In the end the author woke up and gave you a reason to read the book. I only read P&P books, at least eight a month and this book being a sequel to her first book, I wanted to snap. I waited for this book to come out, I couldn't wait. I checked the internet daily, I had to have it. When authors add new characters they should not stay too long away from the true characters, it can become boring. The beginning and the end of the book I enjoyed. Skipped most of the middle.

5.0 out of 5 stars What He Would Not Do 2 Dec 2013

The second book following,"To Have His Cake and Eat it To) in this series is an easy read. I like the fact that PO Dixon showed the side of Darcy and Lizzy having difficulties in the marriage regarding family, social rank, trust, and even a few disagreements as this happens in real live. Not everything is a bed of roses in everyone's life.
I was impressed at the writing and bringing the story together by the way it was written. Lizzy also found out that Jane wouldn't be the quiet, sweet, and accepting person when she wanted to express her thoughts about Lizzy's behavior.
In the end, Darcy does find out from Lizzy that marriage is not only about the bed and love making that makes a marriage but family and family obligations as well as trust & truth are important..... He found out what and what he could not do!
