5.0 out of 5 stars Best Helen Shapiro album to date - a must buy! 12 Nov 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
WHAT WONDROUS LOVE IS THIS is Helen Shapiro's latest, and hopefully not last, album of creatively constructed Gospel songs with a Jazz-oriented feel yet an unmistakeable Hebrew-Jewish flavour permeates the whole work making it desirable for Jews and Christians alike, or anybody for that matter, as the whole album is ultimately appealing and is arguably Helen's best album to date. Every song is a mini masterpiece and imbued with sincerity, energy and the inimitable voice of Helen Shapiro that first gave her pop hits in the 1960's with 'Walking back to Happiness' and 'Don't treat me like a Child.' Now Helen is a child of God she sings like never before and is probably one of the most prominent Messianic Jews i.e. Jews that believe in Yeshua (Jesus) in the UK - a reminder of the original Hebraic roots of the Church in the first century when all the early Christians were baptised Jews.
Buy this album - you won't regret it - it may even change your life! I'm sure that would be Helen's prayer. She has a remarkable testimony and every song on this CD with its differing style and angle will inspire and invigorate even the most jaded of atheist. From foot-tapping pieces that shake away the cobwebs to heart-rending versions of well-loved hymns like 'Great is Thy Faithfulness' the listener will not be disappointed. You'll even buy copies to give to friends. Well done Helen - the LORD had certainly blessed this work and made it into a 'Master'-piece. 'SHALOM.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful! 4 April 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I had heard a song played when Helen was interviewed on the radio which prompted the purchase and I am not disappointed. It has variety, musicality with a strong Jewish flavour, rhythm and style, but the lyrics reflect her Messianic belief and were great in the weeks leading up to Easter. A lovely album!

2.0 out of 5 stars I feel so badly let down, Helen! 3 Sep 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
My wife and I attended Helen's Mk show some few years ago. Thrilled by her testimony, delighted by her singing, we purchased her double CD set, together with the cd providing her emarkable testimony.
So... When we discovered she had, after 12 years, compiled another CD, we hurried to order a copy.
We waited its arrival, with hardly muted anticipation. But, it was terrible: slecht (bad):verschrikkelijk! (terrible).
We laboured, moaning and groaning, through each track, hoping 'the next' would redeem the album, but to no avail.
As committed Christians, we are most interested in the - phrophetic - future of Israel, and feel an affinity with Messianic Judaism. It is therefore with some considerable reluctance we opt to give so low a rating. To be truthful, we ought, arther, have given 1-star, and considered this generous.
All of which leaves us feeling sad - and, as pensioners, a little out-of-packet.
Try again, Helen; or, have you passed your - most excellent -prime? If so, do continue to encourage us with your original songs and testemony: one could never tire of listening, or coming to 'see' you.
