This is a really fresh and creative and take on careers advice & resources for teenagers (although to be honest a lot of the principles applied in the book make it applicable to any age). It covers a range of topics: CV writing, covering letters, getting experience, finding part-time work, and more. What is particularly helpful is there's lots of practical advice and examples specifically tailored for teenagers, which I've not seen before anywhere else. It also provides advice for those considering their next steps (Uni, training, work) for those who are unsure, and for those that have made a decision. A definite must-buy for teenagers and schools.

I bought this for my 13 year old grandson and together with an A-z of careers, should help him through the minefield of choosing subjects and getting into the right career. It is written with the English education system in mind, and can be usefully used at all levels of secondary education, by the student.

A really clear and accessible guide for young people and those who help them (family, teachers, careers staff) to set and achieve life goals, and be deliberate about their careers. I've not found a book like this that takes the best wisdom from the professional world and makes it relevant to school-age readers. I'm looking forward to using it with my kids when they are a few years older.

This book is essential reading for any young person who is facing those most difficult of life's questions: what do I want to do for my career and how do I go about getting there? The great thing is, it's broken down into clear and simple stages which de mystifies the process and gives the reader confidence throughout. I love the innovative format of the book using the 'Talent Show' analogy (which is just perfect and makes me wonder why this hasn't been done before?) So if you are a parent, careers adviser, careers teacher or indeed a teenager yourself, get this book! You won't regret it!

Careers guides can be really dull but What Rocks Your World takes a fresh approach by using the talent show format to help young people reflect on who they are and how their talents might shape their future. It's funny and entertaining using practical exercises to really engage the reader. Making career decisions can be difficult; this guide will help young people feel more confident and positive about their next steps. Recommended.

This is a fantastic book for anyone wanting to think about themselves, their future and how to meet their dreams! It is written in a really accessible way that allows a young person to pick it up and make sense of what it says. I have used it with a number of young people in a group situation and they loved it! Will definitely keep using it with the young people I work with and recommending it to anyone!
