5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating!! 10 Jan 2013
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Although I bought this for a present I did have brief look and also I've heard from the recipient that it is very interesting and informative for anyone who walks or even listens where there are birds. Their communication systems are fascinating to hear and see if we are aware - and know what to look/listen for.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Textbook for "Deep Nature Interpretation". 9 May 2012
By Jon Harshbarger - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
For those already familiar with the study of bird language as a doorway to nature interpretation, the writing of Jon Young needs no review. For others, What The Robin Knows will undoubtedly thrust your study and enjoyment of nature into another realm - one of direct participation. Full of examples that motivate and which are enhanced by audio file connections, Jon's new book is appropriate for novice and experienced students alike. Because of the focus on "common" backyard birds and their relationship to the environment, the lessons are portable to a wide range of ecosystems. This book will become the textbook for our "bird language group" in upstate New York.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing material, fills a void 14 May 2012
By JD - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book leads you from the question of what bird is making that sound, to why is that bird making that sound. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities of exploring the natural world. It contains hard-earned knowledge on the communication of different bird species and the wisdom of how to gain more knowledge in your particular space. This book is extremely well-written. It is mix of science, personal experience, and how-to. There is no book like this out there. I finished it in a day, but will probably re-read and reference it for years to come. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 9 May 2012
By zim66 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Great book! It's hard to put it down. It's totally transformational in a very innocent way. First, this book will completely change the way you think about birds, then it will completely change the way you think about your relationship with birds. Even if you're not a "birder" you'll totally love it.
