This book is excellent and has everything you want to know about the plants themselves, where and how to plant right down to whether they are hardy and how large they grow etc. This book is one of those books that you will keep on your shelf for years to come, always refering back to. It has a good index and has colour photograph pictures throughout.

A mine of information 22 Oct 1998
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
WHAT PLANT WHERE by Roy Lancaster This fine book has been out for about a year now and I keep popping back to it regularly. Concise, well designed, informative, all the facts and figures you require with more than 1200 colour photographs. There's planting ideas for whatever soil, aspect, and size from perennials to trees. I can hear Roy's warming voice throughout its pages - a mine of information and, above all, accesible. Great. ISBN 0 7513-0210-4 Published by Dorling Kindersley £16.99

very useful book 18 Jun 2010
Format:Hardcover
excellent book which points out the pros and cons of where to place your plants, it covers most environments and was really handy for me as my front garden gets only afternoon sun and is very exposed and windy whereas my back garden is south facing but partially overshadowed so has full sun and shade. This book helped me plan out a successful garden which is now in full bloom with everything from windswept coastal plants to orchids !
