In amongst this Susie's other half Peter tells his life story how Susie came to be and his struggles in life. I loved this little book, such a heartwarming and at times hilarious story.

Gives an insight into the life of a transgendered persons life, loves, ambitions and fears.

An easy to read, very entertaining, hoot of a book!

A very enjoyable read 28 July 2010
Format:Paperback
I found book very easy read. The content is funny and suggests the author has lead a very full and interesting life. Unlike many books the content feels real and personal. A frank account of what a few achieve and more should aspire to undertake and survive in one life time. Text able to traverse the line between authors in sights and deterring reader with anything too salacious. The sincerest praise I can offer on my feeling about the book is that I would like to read more.

Surprisingly tame, but thoroughly engaging 15 Dec 2010
By Sally (Bibrary Book Lust) - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
A surprisingly vanilla piece of non-fiction, the first half of the book is a casual accounting of Peter's life and his struggles - family, professional, financial, and personal.

Although the second half of the book is focussed on Susie, it's as much about her clients and their catalogue of fetishes as it is about her. Being an escort is simply a job, a convenient way in which to earn a living. She clearly enjoys her self-expression, but never connects emotionally or romantically with her clients. If anything, she is more amused than aroused by her role in their fantasies.

Overall, Peter's book - much like his life - strikes a careful balance between the two worlds in which he lives. There are clear limits to Susie's expression, and natural barriers in place between her and Peter. She willingly takes on roles that, he freely admits, would result in violence if they were ever requested of him, but it's a healthy sense of internal conflict that keeps Peter/Susie separate, rather than blurring the lines between them.

Whether or not you agree with his choices, you can't help but admire Peter's ability to bounce back from adversity and to be true to himself.
