1.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm, I've read this before..... 8 Sept. 2013
By Addis
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
So as I sit down and begin read 'What Not To Do... And How To Do It' I get this amazing feeling of deja vu. I've read this first story I think to myself, maybe I read it in shortlist magazine. I get to the second one and find I've read that as well. Only then do I study the front cover of the book a little closer, this is not as the title suggests a new book! This is a repackaged version of 'More Awkward Situations For Men' with that title hidden at the bottom of the page.
So it seems I have two copies of the same book with different titles. Word of warning if you already have 'More Awkward Situations For Men' don't buy this! You've already got it!
Amazon maybe you could retitle this or mention it somewhere on the page? Surely I can't be the only one that has bought this book expecting to read a new collection of stories from Danny Wallace only to find it's an old book?

1.0 out of 5 stars RIP OFF! 20 Dec. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Here's an awkward situation: you buy Danny Wallace's latest book (published 2013) on Amazon, begin reading, and realise it's the same book you bought and read 2 years ago, but with a different name. This is "More awkward situations for men" shamelessly republished to make you think it's something new. I WANT MY MONEY BACK DANNY! I've been a big Danny Wallace fan since the beginning, but I won't be buying any more of his books.

Danny's main concern in this book is trying to assert himself as the man of the house and a worthy father-but, as usual, awkward situations keep getting in the way... It seems that the more grown-up Danny tries to be, the more ridicukous situations he ends up in. The funniest chapter is when Danny is holding his son whilst talking on the phone and the baby belches, leaving the person on the other end of the phone call convinced that Danny has burped at him.

This book is very funny-but also heart-warming as you can tell that Danny just wants to be a good husband and father. I think anyone struggling to be a "grown-up" will relate to this book!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roll around laughing 27 July 2011
Format:Paperback
I've read the Yes Man and loved it but for some reason didn't bother with any more of Danny's (obviously I know him) books. I saw an interview with him on tv and thought I would try his new book, 'More Awkward Situations for Men'. I'm glad I did, it's brilliant. In some stories I was laughing so much it was a bit awkward when I was in public! It's a collection of short stories and pieces that he's written as articles so you don't need to read it all at once you can dip in and out. I loved the stories about his new baby, having had a little boy a year ago I could totally relate. Absolutely brilliant book, would definitely recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars MORE awkward situations for men 2 Aug. 2011
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book for those with a short attention span like myself. it can be picked up whenever and wherever, like when waiting for a bus, round a boring friends house or even on the toilet. there are some situations in there that we can all relate to, men as well as women. dont expect a gripping story but do expect a ton of laugh out loud moments. not technically brilliant as a book but amazing in its own right. highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars titters on a plane 7 Aug. 2013
By jenks
Format:Paperback
Having never read a 'Danny Wallace' book before, I came to this with an open mind and a five hour flight...after getting into the format I literally was laughing out loud on a crowded plane..people were looking at me, they thought i was upset as I tried to stifle my amusement...the inappropriate picture on the womans phone tickled me.... I cant fault the book, it was light holiday reading and made me want to read more.

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A great follow on book from Awkward Situations for Men.
Hilarious situations which have you thinking 'its not just me then'.
Very 'Curb your Enthusiasm'.
Well written and in great 'bitesize' paragraphs for a quick 'pick me up' read where needed.
A highly recommended read which will have you laughing out loud.
A real page turner.
