I have just re-read What We May Be after 18 years, and it is nothing short of remarkable. I remember intuitively grasping its concepts without true understanding in 1989, and as the years have unfolded (my entelechy) and many experiences of heart, mind and beyond have been had, the utter brilliance and profundity of the words contained within only make me marvel at the gifted awareness of Roberto Assagioli, who this book is mostly dedicated to. Psychosynthesis (usually lumped in with transpersonal psychology) has to be be one of the best kept secrets in the world of psychoanalysis, which in my humble opinion, it has more to offer in its inherent beauty, complexity and synthesis of the human spirit. I see in Assagioli's visions and techniques a very accessible way to discover the true essence of our Selves without being lost in Eastern forms of mysticism, that I sometimes struggle to relate to with a western orientated education. If anything, Ferrucci's book (first published 1982) can be viewed as a forerunner to other modern forms of Self growth and human potentiality such as facets of NLP, and Wilbers Kosmic Consciousness (aka Integrative Analysis). Namaskara.
