Product Description

NOTE: All proceeds from the sale of What Matters Now go to Room to Read. ------------------------------------- Now, more than ever, we need to shake things up. Now, more than ever, we need a different way of thinking, a useful way to focus and the energy to turn the game around. I hope this book will get you started on that path. It took months, but I think you'll find it worth the effort. Here are more than seventy big thinkers, each sharing an idea for you to think about as we head into the new year. From bestselling author Elizabeth Gilbert to brilliant tech thinker Kevin Kelly, from publisher Tim O'Reilly to radio host Dave Ramsey, there are some important people riffing about important ideas inside. This book also includes Tom Peters, Fred Wilson, Jackie Huba and Jason Fried, along with Gina Trapani, Bill Taylor and Alan Webber. Here's to a year with ideas even bigger than these.

Fun and cooperative 27 Jan 2010
By J. Miller - Published on Amazon.com
Kind of a fun collection of thoughts and ideas from a smattering of around 70 authors, ranging from the CEO of Thomas Nelson to a bunch of bloggers, a bunch of published authors, the editor of Wired, a Stanford professor, and a few too many people who self-brand "entrepreneur."

Subjects range from power to poker to public speaking, with each author contributing a single page on the subject, with just a few observations per page. The tone is one of openness, networking, communication, and change. It has the feel of an excited young student just entering the job market with the world in front of him. The only down side is that it often comes off as simplistic. One too many authors tell you, "Just be honest" and "never stop learning." But the feel on the whole is energetic.
