‘Weldon always has interesting things to say about the battle of the sexes and there is plenty of wry humour along the way.’ Mail on Sunday

disjointed rubbish 20 Dec 2010
By Babs
Format:Paperback
This text looks like the disjointed jottings from a notebook which were never worked into a coherent whole. Presumably some bills needed paying and this was the easy way to do it. Apart from this the text looks like the musings of a Victorian lady. Don't expect anything, be good... who needs that sort of advice.

I love, or rather, loved the writings of Ms. Weldon. Have for more years than I care to admit.

But this latest is just a nothing bit of rubbish.

Not even the little stories within save the day.

Perhaps the well has gone dry. It happens.

I think the writer would do better at spending her time helping her friends get a new book out. (Mr. Ronan comes to mind)

If you are a fan, keep yourself as one by not picking up this book.

Hope the rent got paid, Fay Weldon.

Don't get it 9 Dec 2006
By C. Nam
Format:Hardcover
I don't really understand what the point of the book is. I've never read any of her previous stuff and just picked it up as an impulse buy from the self help section but I didn't find it helpful in any way shape or form. Is it supposed to be just a random collection of her thoughts? Is it all to be taken light heartedly? Or am I just not one of the women she is supposed to be writing about?
