5.0 out of 5 stars A must read....., 14 Jan 2004

After meeting Susan in person, I was inspired to read her latest book. The little snapshot I got from our meeting intrigued me - I needed to find out more.
I was not disappointed. The book flows naturally, yet has the flexibility for you to jump from chapter to chapter as you wish. If you have any interest in human nature then you will be intrigued by the insights and simplicity of the human persona revealed in the book. It can help you understand the people you share this world with but more importantly truly understand yourself.
I have not yet finished the book as I see it as something to savor. I have it on my desk at work and every so often when someone throw's a tantrum or shows a quirky little idiosyncrasiy I get out my book! It's very empowering finally understanding people and all their little ways!

5.0 out of 5 stars Eureka!, 30 Nov 2003

I really enjoyed reading this book as I have always felt I didn't understand people very well and now I have some clue! I particularly like the combination of quizzes and chapters of information in easily digested chunks.
Other books I have read on the subject of understanding human behaviour just involve reading endless information which is hard to relate to and hard to remember.
I'm now looking with much more interest at people, especially at my in-laws. I used to feel like a fish out of water when I went to family parties, but now I realise they are all achievers and/or influencers whereas I'm an affiliator and an off the scale introvert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do the tests FIRST, 9 May 2003

This review is from: What Makes People Tick?: The Ultimate Guide to Personality Types (Paperback)
I've read a number of self-help books recently as part of a process of trying to understand "Who I am". I had found useful insights in this book which I hadn't found in any others.

I missed the fact that I should have done the tests - which are at the back of the book - first. I recommend that readers do the tests and then read the explanations. I found the tests rather simplistic compared with others and would say that they are the weakest part of the book (but that may be because I knew what they were testing for...).

Generally this is a well-produced book which is easy to read and comprehend. It is full of valuable information that will help readers understand themselves and others. I recommend it as the first book to read if you are on a quest to answer "Who am I?" It's a good starting point.
