5.0 out of 5 stars The best of - or an anthology 10 Jan 2010
Format:Audio CD
Compilations, especially those of older bands can be like a lucky dip, often containing a mixed collection of good and bad songs and sometimes with dubious quality. In this case, I have known and loved many of the bands songs for many years and had just one of their albums on Vinyl. This collection tells the story of BS&T in a well collected selction that covers the band in all of its phases. Compare the sounds of all the lineups and lead singers in a quality and memorable collection. One of my best 'Blind' buys ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate BS&T Compilation? 9 May 2013
Format:Audio CD
At last, a BS&T compilation which doesn't just deal with the familiar David Clayton Thomas years! Here we begin with some tracks from the band's first album "Child Is Father To The Man" featuring founder member/vocalist/keyboardist Al Kooper, including the audition track "Refugee From Yuhupitz". Of course the expected tracks are all here - the US hits with, yes - the full album version of David Clayton-Thomas's magnificent "Spinning Wheel", complete with change of tempo, late night barroom jazzy instrumental break! Despite all the personnel changes over the years, BS&T still managed to attract top musicians who could really play - check out the version of Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". If I had one minor suggestion for change, it would be to have included Al Kooper's "My Day's Are Numbered" from the first album at the expense of one of the early '70's tracks recorded during David Clayton-Thomas's break from the band. Apart from that, this CD is about as good as it gets for long standing fans and those looking to buy BS&T for the first time.

5.0 out of 5 stars surely their best compilation 10 Aug 2008
Format:Audio CD
this imported double greatest hits cd contains original album track recordings taken from the nine blood sweat and tears albums from the band's late sixties beginnings under al kooper through to the mid seventies line up. All their best known numbers are featured and for avid fans there are also two previously unreleased tracks in "children of the wind" and "time remembered". The comprehensive insert features a detailed discography with the full lines ups of each of the nine albums, including photographs. The sound quality is excellent and i can recommend it for all real fans of the band as the cd that gives you a 32 track insight into the very best of blood sweat and tears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Collection of BS&T 18 Nov 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I have quite a lot of BS&T work on vinyl so but when I saw this set I purchased it because it contains a significant number of songs that I didn't have. I was not disappointed by either the playback quality or the previously unheard material when I listened to it. In my opinion a must for BS&T fans and worth the investment for those who have only heard their hits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but not comprehensive 14 Nov 2000
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
A pretty good collection, although marred by less than great liner notes (lots of different stories, so this isn't a surprise) and odd track selection (totally omitted the best of the Jerry Fisher tracks).
Sound quality is great, pretty good, but not great package.
