I have never written a book review before, but happily used other people's reviews for my own purposes. WTF and the AiM courses taught me to look at EVERYTHING differently, and so I find myself here, about to wax lyrical about an amazing book, written by an amazing man who in asking the body lots of questions, has found answers that make more sense than conventional wisdom. Park your A&P perceptions at the front cover, dive in and prepare for your brain-matter to be tied in knots, your joints to discover a world they didn't know and a great big smile to be plastered over your face as you journey into a fascinating A&P parallel universe. You'll be inhabiting it in no time ... feeling it, doing it and sharing it ... because it works. Buy the book, book the course and help both yourself and your clients.

Buy the book and get on the course! This is how anatomy should always have been taught - practically! The course will get you thinking and seeing your patients in a completely new light and having read the book will give you an important head start. Gary and Chris are fantastic teachers who massively respect their students and the format of the course is unlike any other. An unparalleled teaching style that leaves no one behind, Chiropractor or first year PT all are rendered equal on AIM. Trust me, if you buy this book you will be booking onto the course - there's no way you wouldn't!

Not only is this book a game changer, it is a life changer. As a bodyworker, I am regularly drawn to the feet for the answer. However, like the reviewer (Laura) before me, I was lacking the tools to piece it all together. Gary puts the pieces together, articulating his concept clearly, intelligently, and with a sense humor.

After having read What The Foot, my personal experience has been a transformation from simply walking to palpating the earth with my feet. Everything has shifted. Very much looking forward to the nearest AiM class. Most excellent book.

A thoroughly engaging read, even for a novice in this field, the author has clearly developed an incredibly complex methodology, but it is backed up by real life case studies and clear explanations. I can see that the author's life and soul has gone into this book, it is definitely not a book for book's sake so if you know what Gary does I would definitely urge you to buy this book.

Maybe it's because I'm not a therapist (although I am trainer), but I found the book to be mostly a sales pitch to go on one of the author's courses and found very little in terms of actual, practical advice.

As an ex-colleague of mine used to say, "Come to me with solutions, not problems", and I'm afraid I found a parallel with this book, as all it seemed to tell me was what we're doing wrong, but didn't tell me how to do things correctly.

All I got from the book was that our feet don't work as they're designed to due to modern shoes and flat surfaces, so train in bare feet on natural surfaces, which I do anyway. Bosh, no need to buy the book.

Rubbish! Full of an individuals theories with no evidence to substantiate. No examples of corrective treatments, just a book of how great the author feels he is and a plug to go on one of his overpriced courses. Feel very cheated out of my money !

Quite Simply the missing piece in the world of Exercise, Movement and Rehab. Having experienced the power of the Anatomy in Motion approach both as a patient and as a therapist who practises it, my life has been transformed by it. Garys book What the Foot, is the entrance into a world where all of the dark holes in therapy, movement, exercise and indeed life are bathed in light. Without a shadow of a doubt, THE most important book in the world of therapy, movement and human potential in the last 10-20 years! Honour and a privilege to know the man personally and to be a proponent of his philosophy.
