5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all!, 2 April 2008
This seems to be the number one "go to" pregnancy book every devised and I have to say, I was blown away with all the great info it contained. It goes month by month and really has tons of great, useful (I thought) advice. It's almost like a standard, or something. I also liked and would recommend another pregnancy book which was a bit lighter than this one, called You Know You're Pregnant When. Reflections on the Longest Nine Months of My Life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than ringing the doctor with every scare., 7 Nov 2000
By A Customer
In common with several other reviewers I found the dietary advice rather alarming and so opted not to read the 'Best Odds diet' but use the government advice instead.I all other respects I found this book great, it saved me ringing the doctor or midwife with every panic and gave me a much clearer view of what to expect from my ante-natal appointments. I liked the fact that it faced the possibility that the pregnancy might end unhappily it was helpful as my husband had previously experienced the still-birth of a son. Simply I found this a book that I turned to over and over again with my pregnancy worries and found calm, factual and reassuring answers to my questions. I heartily recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for specific problems, but very negative.., 18 Oct 2001
By A Customer
As a mother to be, I found this book very helpful if I needed to look up a specific symptom, but not to read through. I found that it was very negatively written, and I actually found myself imagining symptoms and issues after reading it, which turned out to be nothing. A good book for specific references (as you might use an encyclopedia), but I wouldn't recommend buying it to read right through.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK but terribly American and doctor-knows-best
I wish I hadn't bought this book. It has a lot of information, but

opinion of the book's authors. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Preachy
I found this book to be extremely unrealistic and preachy in terms of what to eat when pregnant. Some of the month-by-month Q&A were informative, but often repetitious. Read more
