This brilliant book on the history of our planet has more than 1,000 illustrations on a single 4.5 billion-year
timeline. Learn everthing about Earth! --NG Kids magazine

Product Description

The What on Earth? Wallbook of the Natural World tells the complete story of natural history from the formation of the Earth to the latest breakthroughs in evolutionary science. A3 in size and comprising a remarkable 2.3 m long, fully illustrated timeline, it can either be read like a book or unfolded and stuck on a wall. On one side the 4.5 billion year timeline presents a unique illustrated guide to the past, cleverly linking subjects together from asteroids to algae. Streams of colour represent key themes, including Earth, sky, sea and land, and provide a backdrop along which all the major events of natural history unfold. On the reverse side a 7,000 word, illustrated narrative explains the story of all natural history in words, highlighting the most significant moments and the people behind the science, which cross-refers to the timeline. Perfect for younger readers but also relevant to all ages, this innovative and versatile wallbook is the first ever attempt to illustrate the entire history of nature and natural science on a single piece of paper. It is the follow up to the critically acclaimed, best-selling What on Earth? Wallbook.

This is truly a fantastic gift for all those into evolution and dinosaurs . Either read as a book or spread out and put on wall, informative , fun and very educational. A really good buy.

Great Book 25 May 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I got this a bit apprehensively to be honest as it is a little pricey but I'm really happy with it.

Great fold out book that is great fun to read and to look at the pictures (I realise that makes me sound very childish and possibly retarded). Im 26 years old with no kids or anything, but this would be great for anyone of any age to enjoy. I mean I wont be throwing this up on the wall as it is intended to but I will happily flick through it. I can see a kid really loving this thing though as it is interesting having a book that can instantly transform into an informative loooong poster.

The artwork wont blow you away and the information isnt going to get you a scholarship at Cambridge but its the brief simplicity that makes this a book aimed at both laymans and children alike.

The only problem with the item (and this isnt really a problem to be honest), is that the pages are double sided which is fine for me as I wont be hanging this on a wall, but if you want both the picture side and the extra info side hung as a poster you cant (or you would have to buy 2). This really isnt a deal breaker though but just thought Id mention it.

Anyway this is a good picture book for all ages!
