Using clear photographs, and concise text, this book illustrates the varying physical signs a dog gives, and explains certain behaviours. Whilst this is not an in-depth study, it provides a good key to understanding the basics. The sections dealing with approaching a dog, and how dogs interact with each other, are particularly important to learn.

This book is filled with pictures along with the meaning of your dogs behaviour. Its a brilliant insight into what your dog might be thinking. Dogs are all about body language and this book easily and simply shows you how to identify it.
I would say that it could have been longer and possibly described some breeds behaviour such as border collies as i think some dog breeds will show things in different ways.
Its a good book though and handy to have if you want some insight into how your dog behaves!

This is most definately NOT an essential guide. It is VERY basic, not categorised well and doesn't exactly explain much. I was hoping for something much more in depth and informative, but got a book that seems like it is aimed at 10 year olds. Would not recommend unless you've never seen a dog before!
