This little book is well written by a respected dog trainer/behaviourist. I have only given it 3 stars because it didn't help me with my problem. Most, if not all, dog training books assume, maybe quite rightly, that the dog in question is 'normal' and well socialized to begin with, thereby able to take instruction and follow it through. My dog is extremely fearful having only known abuse from humans, and finds it difficult to take instruction when in stressful situations, ie out for a walk, hence the pulling.

For me, the method described in this book is not one that I can teach my dog, that is not to say that the book does not fulfill it's title, I have no doubt it would for a dog that is able to take instruction, and an owner who is willing to spend time working with their dog.
