Book Description

1 Jan 2004
Endorsed by William Dembski, Ph.D., the scientist at the forefront of the intelligent-design movement.Darwin might have thought twice about publishing his theories if he had had access to today's medical and microbiological discoveries. Drawing on years of research, Dr. Simmons demonstrates that the almost infinite complexity of the human anatomy simply could not have developed by chance. For example: the body runs on "battery power..".from the hundreds of mitochondria in each cellthe two sexes--evolutionary theory cannot explain why they existevery cell is its own pharmacist, chemist, and metallurgistAccessible, clearly presented, and utterly fascinating, "What Darwin Didn't Know "shows the human body to be a marvelous system constructed by an infinitely wise Designer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Desperate 6 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
'Dr. Geoffrey Simmonds has studied the human body and evolutionary theory for more than 40 years'. If you ask me to break this down I would say that he's studied the human body (and lots and lots of the bible) for 39.99999 years and has looked up how to spell 'evolutionary theory'. His laughable knowledge of the subject is demonstrated with complete ignorance of topology (the environments influence on evolution) as he questions why animals don't evolve at the same speed, his ignorance of the many whale transitional fossils that exist which he claims do not and his complete lack of research into the other side of 'the argument' (a quick search on google into the 'evolution of the eye' yielded very contasting opinions on the subject and its feasability).

The forward by William Dembski has the audacity to call the theory of evolution a magic trick and yet the book constantly tries to convince us of a supernatural explaination for the diversity of life. Simmonds uses the argument that we knew less 200 years ago and then promotes an idea first suggested over 2000 years ago. Indeed many of his arguments inadvertantly support evolution 'skin is thickest where we need most protection'. The book also contains numerous ridiculous analogies e.g. '[evolution of man] is like a prehistoric blind man building a bridge from Key West plank by plank, aiming for Portugal, and despite lightning strikes and hurricanes and his inability to see arriving there 10 trillion planks later'!?

Then it's worth mentioning the numerous weak arguments put forward for reasons why humans have different abilities to that of other animal/apes. My personal favourite being humans sweat while others don't because 'it's a defence mechanism for when humans get attacked they become slippery'.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic book 15 Jan 2008
Format:Paperback
What Darwin didnt know lies at the tips of your fingers... And everywhere else in your anatomy. The founder of evolutionary theory didnt know that the function of every cell and every system in your body follows an intricate DNA blueprint. In fact, he didnt know much about the human body at all.

Drawing on the most recent research as well as years of clinical work, Geoffrey Simmons tells the real story about your amazing complexity:
-The brain resembles a continent swept by electrical hurricanes and chemical tidal waves that somehow make sense of reality
-A fertilized egg makes a journey as complex as the path of a golf ball that rolls 30 miles and lands precisely in the 18th hole of a course its never seen
-The immune system contains multiple defenses that confine trillions of microorganisms to your skin, like passengers innocently sunning themselves on the deck of a cruise ship
-And much more!
What Darwin Didnt Know pictures the wonders of the human body in their true contexta marvelous system fashioned by an infinitely wise Designer.

I love reading about the amazing Human Body. This Book is a must read for anyone who is medical minded but skeptical about Intelligent Creation.
