This much-anticipated sequel to 'Once Were Warriors', New Zealand's most successful film to date, is similarly based around the country's gang culture. Jake the Muss has turned his back on his family, and is now living his life drinking and getting up to his old tricks in McClutchy's bar. But when he discovers that his eldest son has been killed in a gang fight, he vows to get his act together and struggles to save his other son from suffering a similar fate.

Having seen 'Once Were Warriors' when it was first released in New Zealand, I didn't think that this would be able to carry through on the raw emotion portrayed in the first movie. I was wrong. This had a good gritty storyline which shows Jake Heke (Temuera Morrison) realising that his life had to change. A lot of people would have dismissed this as being over acted - New Zealand (unfortunately) does have violent gang activity, you only have to venture into the south Auckland area to realise that this is really what it can be like. A great movie. If you have seen 'Once Were Warriors' don't miss this.

This is a great film, it takes the story of the first film (Once Were Warriors) and expands on the main character (Jake the Muss)
The first film was an all time classic (if you haven't seen it then why not?) and this film is a welcome addition, I cannot wait to see if the story will continue with more films.
I will not go into the story as it will spoil it but if you are a fan of hard hitting, gritty films then this will knock your socks off! I would recommend getting both films as it is well worth seeing them in the correct order. The acting is first class and the setting is exactly how you would imagine life in the ghettos of New Zealand. Buy this film, you will not be disappointed.

The Second Installment To First Flim ( Once Were Warrior's ).How Do The Two Flims Compare ? The First Flim Was On Full Throttle, A Master Piece With Out A Doubt. As For( What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted )I Enjoyed It Because Most Of The Actors Were In The First Flim. Jake Is Trying To Put Things Right In This Flim. Did Not Have The Throttle Of The First Flim ,But I Still Recommend You Buy This Flim .

Temuera Morrison is again a world class actor. The more you see of this man, the more you are in awe of his work.
Like the original "Once Were Warriors", this movie leads you into a different part of the normal living conditions and lifestyles that you can find in every country in the world.
Nothing shorld be classified as normal, for we all look upon things differently. So for a lot of peoples, this lifestyle is normal, but a lot of us cannot cope with things that are outside of our regular circle...This is one of those movies.
Be prepaired to see life in the raw, and for a trip that educate you and will leave you breathless.....
9 out of 10.

This film is absolutely brilliant. You can watch it without having seen Once Were Warriors and still follow it but it is best to see Once Were Warriors first.

Great film so why only 3 stars? I would have liked to give it 4 but in that case "Once were warriors" would need to to be given at least 6. This is a good sequel and well worth a look but not a masterpiece like the original.
