I love this movie, it's not perfect but a great sunday afternoon film. Sid James, Kenneth Connor, Shirley Eaton - yum. Unfortunately the DVD is fairly poor and appears to be mastered from an old TV transfer. I'm sure that terrestrial TV has shown a better version in recent years.

Classic comedy! 19 Feb 2009
Format:DVD
I'm in my late teens, and I first saw this film a few years ago.

this is one of the films that made me appreciate old comedies. you have a mix of great characters, each with their own little quirks, and there are just some parts that everyone will find amusing, age no object.

Much of old comedy isn't appreciated as much as it should be these days, and I just see this as one of those that needs more coverage.

Good, undemanding fun 12 Mar 2009
Format:DVD
I enjoyed this when it was first released in the cinema, and bought the DVD out of curiosity, to see how it stood the test of time.
The answer was... surprisingly well! The script is full of terrible inconsistencies, but it has a good ensemble cast, and is, on the whole one of the better British comedies of that period.
