Review
I write today about a book which can honestly be described as awesome. Wexford: A Town and Its Landscape by Billy Colfer, is iconic in every sense of that word. This comprehensive, attractive, appetising work has no equal in the future and will not be surpassed in this century. It is a work of singular genius. It is a work which has been assembled, constructed and performed, utilised and triumphantly concluded with so many diverse talents that this reviewer is almost overwhelmed. The illustrations, maps, diagrams, photographs are all brilliantly presented. The book itself, alone as printed, is a work of art. It is a massive accomplishment by Cork University Press who in 2004 also published Colfer's The Hook Peninsula, a similar publication triumph. Nicky Furlong, Historian and Writer
