Wet with no juice...,

With a title as bold as 'Wet:True Lesbian Sex Stories' you, like me, would be right in expecting a book full of salacious, naughty and down right dirty sex stories. However, it is with grave disappointment that this book offers very little of the aforementioned. Of the 31 stories on offer, only 5 are of any real interest, and these themselves are incredibly short (even by short story standards). Although there are some great premises, in particular 'Three in a Bed', by Nicky Donoghue and 'Sex for a Cigarette', by Caitlin S. Curran, the sex scenes are short and feel somewhat contrived (although, as stated in the title, they are supposedly true). For sex scenes to really hit home, they need to be graphic, detailed and feverishly hot. And with books like these, it is the sex that people want - nothing else, just piping hot, juicy sex, and unfortunately this book just does not deliver the juice.

Considering the name of this book you might expect some pretty risque stories (or at least I did!). However I found quite the opposite: not only are the stories quite vanilla, but many are actually sentimental. Moreover, there's very little here that we haven't seen a many times before in past lesbian erotica collections. This is a fair enough book if you like soppy love stories with a bit of sex thrown in. But if your looking for no holds barred sex scenes, give this one a miss.

Terribly disappointed with this book. I've had much more exciting encounters, and could write better myself.
A pattern becomes apparent in each story.... a) A long build up to the event, (and not much imagination used in the process). b) The culmination of events is over in a flash. I was dubious about buying 'lesbian erotica' in the first place... as I imagined it wouldn't encompass all that is true lesbian erotica / fantasy. I guess I should have trusted my instincts. I guess it's not all bad tho... as this book did ensure that I fell asleep rather quickly.
