About the Author
Derek Tattersall started breeding and exhibiting West Highland White Terriers in 1968, and since then his Olac Kennel has achieved remarkable succes. Ch. Halfmoon of Olac holds the British record as the top-winning Westie bitch, and he currently owns the top winning Westie of all time - Ch. Olac Moonpilot, affectionately known as 'Paddy'. Paddy was the top winning dog all breeds in 1988 and runner-up dog in 1989. The culmination of his career was winning Best in Show at Crufts in 1990. The Olac kennel has exported puppies worldwide, and every one has attained its Championship title in its respective adopted country. Some have achieved even higher awards by becoming top-winning Westies in America, Germany, Norway and Finland. Derek is an international Championship Show judge, and he has judged Westies in America, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Germany, Belgium, as well as in the UK.
