3.0 out of 5 stars A star for each of the last three. 6 Nov 2013

The first two books in this compilation were sweet to the point of saccharin. I so needed that pinch of salt!

The remaining three were uncomplicated easy reads. Certainly a pleasant way to relax and while away the time. Good basic romance with a touch of spice.

If you can deal with the first two (can always just skip them) then I would certainly recommend this to relax with.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful stories 30 Oct 2013
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Old West Christmas Romances is full of second chances and giving spirit. Each story give you rich characters you fall in love with wanting to will their happy every after. Each having a past to leave behind and a bright and promising futures with their new loves is indeed a Christmas miracle.

You have Willow and Guss from Carre' White The man from Cripple Creek a couple she thought because a childhood illness would never find true love and he a man who had lost the love of his life would never know love again. A friendship blossomed over a meal that gives credence to the old saying the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Carre' created supporting characters that we should see again someday in their own stories to support Willow and Guss on their journey to true love.
Almost Lonely By Anya Karin was a wonderful story of promises made and kept that lead to so much more. Lottie and Colton was a love that they wore on their sleeves but couldn't believe they were worthy of it. Everyone Lottie ever known left not to return so she had little to hold on to when outlaw Colton said he would return. Spending her days without the company of others Lottie only wanted was a nice Christmas dinner but in return she got a Christmas love that would last forever.

Mail Order Matron by Kirsten Osbourne, Kirsten outdo herself every time in this series bring us wonderful rich characters' that allow us to transport ourselves into their lives living every moment with each page turn. Julie and Edward both thinking love has passed them by gets a second chance at a new beginning. It is wonderful to see Julie experiencing her first times with Edward and he realizing that what he thought was love was not truly realized until he met Julie. If there was ever two people who deserved their Christmas love it was Julie and Edward and Kirsten wove a magical love that will last many Christmases into the future.

Unwanted Bride by Flora Dare was a wonderful treat to see that hard work and true love can conquer all. A sacrificing Heloise rejected by her beau and betrayed by her sister set out to find a life and love of her own in the west. She becomes the mail order bride of Jonathan a man himself who though himself in love only to find that it was his fortune that was sought. Two hearts sent west to mend came together to find a lasting love. Flora made each draw on the things they love to sustain them as they forge forward into the realization that they indeed belong together. Well done.

I loved each of these stories separately and together. A wonderful gift for Christmas or anytime for those who love romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Western Kisses Review 29 Oct 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I wish I could give stars individually for each book, but since I can't I will just give a review here for each book.

The Man From Cripple Creek - This was a good read, the storyline flowed nicely, but I am not used to reading in the first person so it was difficult to really connect with characters other than Willow herself. I also had trouble with the large gap in their ages, but that is just me :) All in all I would give this 4 stars!

Almost Lonely - This book was slow, I found myself struggling to get through it as the storyline just didn't captivate me. Another aspect that troubled me was the lack of closure at the end. I felt it left some things unfinished. All in all I would give this 2 stars.

Mail Order Matron - What can I say? I started reading Kirsten Osbournes Mail Order series after getting the first one free from Amazon, and I have been hooked ever since! Once again she doesn't disappoint! This storyline was different from the other in the series as there was no real conflict, which I love to see the main characters overcome, but the connection between Edward and Julia, was so sweet and pure. This one is a definite 5 stars!!!

Unwanted Bride - Flora Dare has a new fan!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I don't know that I can tell much about this story without giving away the book other than it is a MUST READ!!! It left me wanting more in a good way! I can't wait to read her next book!!! 5 Stars all the way!!!

Romancing Rosalie - This was a good read. It was a sweet story, but very fast. There is a delicate balance between a romance being too quick and too slow, this one would be great if the story had been a bit longer, I would have liked to learn a bit more about Garrett's story, All in all definitely 4.5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stories 30 Oct 2013
By Chele - Published on Amazon.com

I enjoyed all 5 books. I have read several books by two of the authors Kirsten Osbourne and Carre White. This is my first time of reading books by the other three authors and looking forward to reading some of their books. With this book set there is a little of everything for each reader. The stories run from non steamy to steamy. Beautiful woman, pudgy woman, woman with scars on her face and body from small pox. Good guy,bad guy. Handsome men to plain looking men. These books have a wide range of characters and story lines that you will enjoy reading about.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Amazing Stories 29 Oct 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I first have to say that all of these stories were well written, all with incredible detail for each them not being a full length book. My favorites were definatly Mail order Matron and Romancing Rosalie those romances held some heat. The others were slow buding romances. I always enjoy anthropologies because i can sample new authors. Ill definatly be looking into more of their writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Dose of Old Western Sweetness and Romance 31 Oct 2013
By Emma Gast - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've been a long time fan of many of these authors, and it was quite the bargain to get all of these together.

All of them focus on those going out into the new frontier and finding a new bit of love on the way. I devoured them so quickly, glued to all of em for a day straight - the Christmas element is a unifying theme, but they're enjoyable any time of the year.

White's 'The Man From Cripple Creek' is a wonderful tale of finding love when all of the love seems so completely lost - it's heartwarming reminder that there's always someone out there for all of us. Loved it, burned right through it.

Karin's 'Almost Lonely' is a blend of the dusty fear of a future ghost town and the allure of the bad boy, and accepting how things don't always happen how we expect. Intriguing and interesting all the way.

Osbourne's 'Mail Order Matron' is another Mail order story from the acclaimed author and so live sup to her standards of spinning a tale following taking a huge chance for love, heading across the country for a man you've never met. A definite must for Osbourne fans.

Dare's "Unwanted Bride" twists Osbourne's concept into something new, about a woman facing the very real reality of being rejected, and being on the verge of rejection again. It's an exciting spin, dug it.

Oakes 'Romancing Rosalie' is a story of love spurned, and how healing from that loss isn't easy - but how sometimes it's worth going the extra mile to get that girl. A fine ending to the collection, in my opinion.

This collection is more than worth it, it'd be worth it at ten times the price. Can't recommended it enough for those who like old western romances.
