This hard drive is specified as Manuf.Code:WDE1MS1200BE. If so, this is not a 7200 rpm drive. Be very careful, you'll end up with a 5400rpm drive although the title suggests it is 7200rpm.

Ok, this seems to work fine with my Windows PC, but the whole point of getting a portable drive was so I could use it with my Mac, which has quite a small HD. Because Powerbooks conform to the USB specifications, they do not provide enough power off one USB port to spin up the drive, so the drive just sits clicking occasionally. Even with a USB "Y" cable (sourced from eBay), taking power off both ports (as the small print in the manual and the WD site tells you), the Mac only occasionally notices there's something there and, even when it does, refuses to mount it. Never buy WD products if you have a Mac, as their support for you is non-existent.
