Album of the year! 14 Aug 2007
Format:Audio CD
My favourite album of 2007 so far, by far. Passes through dub, disco, indie, balearic and pure pop in only 6 songs but 50 minutes of pure bliss. Cannot recommend this highly enough. Loving it still, after playing it round the clock!

I was introduced to this album by my 20-year-old son here in 2011. Though in my 50's and more a fan of rock / blues ( Floyd, Walters, Satriani, Bonamassa ) I was struck by the crafted tones and beats which will resonate with any fan of good music of any genre. `Out there' and `Life's a beach' are especially good. While some elements are a bit too regulated ( I can't stand drum machines ) overall this cd is excellent.

Great unknown album! 23 Oct 2010
By Andrew Wiseman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I heard about this album from Amoeba Music's "Stuff We Like" book they give out free, and one day I picked it up. It's fantastic, I really don't get why they aren't bigger. Sort of mellow, interesting electronica, a bit like LCD Soundsystem's quieter moments. Highly recommended.

Arthur Russell meets Talking Heads meets Manuel Göttsching meets the Cure 6 Mar 2008
By arturo - Published on Amazon.com
The Guardian back in the UK sums it up nicely: "Born of British DJs' Ibiza-and-ecstasy honeymoon 20 years ago, Balearic wasn't so much a genre of music as a spirit of benign adventure. The Swedish duo of Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg (who recently remixed Kylie) revive that ethos by absorbing every influence - the long, shape-shifting remixes of Andrew Weatherall and early Underworld, the avant-disco of Arthur Russell, the polished global rhythms of Talking Heads, the kosmiche ambience of Manuel Göttsching, the lonesome vocals of the Cure. The 16-minute Out There sets out their stall, with aquatic reggae rhythms, trebly post-punk guitars and seratonin-flooded synth washes. The title of another long beauty sums up the record's mood-altering charm: Life's a Beach."
