ok,.. i'm a guitar teacher, and have many people around,..99% of them drink tea or coffee,we have an 'open' style house where many of our friends pop in,(almost continually!)..we make near to (maybe over! i don't count) a hundred cups of tea a week, and have gone through sooooo many kettles .. tea for me is more important than wine.!! wine is VERY important! this kettle has been with us for months,..nearly a year. it's showing no sign of wear. the handle is comfy and cool to the touch and gives this very classy but understated kettle a reassuring feel. the whistle is loud enough to hear anywhere in the house, but (unlike many!) is not overly harsh. water doesn't splash back,..the lid is a firm fit without being wrestleworthy tight. the little silicon bit on the 'presser' (well i don't know what it's called!) is still stuck fast (unlike the other kettles we've had , where after a week or two it's dropped off and you get a hot finger!) this feels like a german car! it's solid and reliable. we're seriously thinking if buying a spare, it's that good. i don't write many reviews because i don't have the time,.. but this (along with brabantia tin openers!) deserves a medal for making something with such excellent build quality. if you're from WESCO and you read this,..don't you DARE change anything. best kettle we've EVER had.AWESOME!
