'The White Diamond' improves with the HD transfer and gains a moderately-interesting 'making of' featurette in the process, but 'Grizzly Man' is constrained by Treadwell's SD source material and the blu-ray adds little to the DVD. The new 'Encounters' movie is okay, but to me it looks more like a compilation of out-takes from something else than a movie in its own right. The lacklustre extras felt like padding, when what would really add value is a Herzog commentary track for each of the films. Having seen (and owned on DVD) two of the aforementioned movies, it was with some disappointment that I discovered the two other films in this '5 film box set' were archive documentary shorts rather than feature-length documentaries. This, above all, makes this box a poor buy unless the 'proper' movies are new to you.
I just re-acquired Encounters on DVD for a second go round and found that it does have a director's commentary! I don't have the Blu-ray any more, but I don't recall it having a commentary.
