On opening the book I was impressed by the broad selection of poems and poets on display and by the list of notable names who have contributed: Roger Elkin, Graham Burchell, James Knox Whittet, Pat Borthwick, Terry Jones and Fatima Al Matar, to name but a few. It really is an impressive collection of poems.

Great collection 26 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
As diverse a collection of modern poetry as you're likely to find. Something for everyone here. Although having said that some of the poetry is not for the faint hearted. Well produced book too with a great photograph on the cover and well set out inside. Would make a nice Christmas present.

Great collection! 6 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
This first Welsh Poetry Competition anthology is a collection of over 100 poems that our three esteemed judges considered worthy of a prize in the first five years of the competition, from our launch on 1st March 2007 to the announcement of results on 15th July 2011.

This collection, like our competition, is not for the faint hearted, nor for those only interested in establishment praise or recognition. This book is purely for those who care passionately about one of the greatest art forms known to man - poetry.

Launched on St David's Day @ Clwb-Y-Bont, Pontypridd, 2007 the aim of the competition was to `encourage and foster the wealth of creative writing talent that we know exists in Wales but somehow gets overlooked by the arts business'.

With entries from Abu Dhabi to Australia, from Canada to China, from India to Israel, and from Kenya to Kuwait we have effortlessly reached the international market.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this collection as much as anything that's come out of Wales in the last 10 years!
