For the most part, the music featured here ignores the composers' less tuneful output. Instead there are tunes galore. I don't know enough about Welsh folk tunes to say whether the tunes are traditional or made up by the composers but they take me back to my childhood in south Wales and the songs we sang in music lessons. This cd must be one of my better buys this year.
On the downside, the recordings are not new so the orchestral sound isn't as full as I might have liked and the playing is not always up to the demands of the music.
