I like the menu planning section of the book, especially the pre-planned menus...Its a wonderful book with thought-provoking background reading. www.bizziebaby.co.uk. From the Author

Whilst working as a nutritionist i realised many families had a fear of cooking and a misconception that healthy food choices were expensive. Others would say they had no time to cook, yet many recipes take minutes to prepare. I wanted to put together a series of tips and recipes to help families get back into the kitchen, showing them that healthy food really is simple home-cooked food. This book is really a healthy lifestyle diet, with the added bonus of detailing price per portion, menu plans and shopping lists all aimed to make families lives easier.

Using the tips in the opening chapters, you could opt for healthier food choices such as Olive oil, low fat creme fraiche, xylitol (instead of sugar); this could even help you shed any unwanted pounds without compromising on taste. Following the shopping and cooking tips, you can save time and money, allowing you and your family to enjoy time together.

Simple, home cooked food brings the whole family together. Get your children in the kitchen from an early age to help and experience food. Cooking is an essential life skill but it is also enjoyable, entertaining and delicious!

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have many cookery books and in amongst them are a few on speedy family meals which dont cost a fortune in exotic ingredients or take an eternity to make.
This is by far the best of these and the one I have used the most. The resulting meals are not only healthy and thrifty but have been well received by my family and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
