I thought The Quireboys were long gone, yet here they are, back to support UFO in June (see you at Wolverhampton). The lyrics are great, the music as strong as ever and oh, those gravelly vocals. A joy to listen to once again!!
Powerful return to form and proof that the Pap Idol pretenders have no musical talent whatsoever.

Ok, this isn't as great as their debut album, but after all the years this is an enjoyable effort. Spike sounds as good and raspy as ever, and the music is bluesy and catchy, with more than a nod to The Faces. If you're a Quireboys fan and want a fresh injection of their music cos you know their old stuff word for word, then this album is a good one for you.

You Can't Go Wrong With This Band 7 Feb 2005
By lastofthewild1s - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The Quireboys are a band that you are placing a safe bet with when you buy an album by them. You never have to worry about the fact that you haven't heard one single track off of the album before you buy it, because they always deliver the goods.

There is however a complaint I have about this album...it only has nine tracks. But, I'd rather have nine strong tracks from this band than 12 tracks from most bands and 4 or 5 of them being good.

The Quireboys play rock n' roll in a classic rock tradition that few bands do anymore. With Well Oiled, The Quuireboys take their sound a step further. They always sound like The Quireboys, but they've also stretched themselves a bit. You can hear that they have grown in songs like Black Mariah. But, you also get classic Quireboys in tunes like The Finer Stuff and Lorraine Lorraine.

This band has failed to disappoint me after 14 years of being a fan. I hope more people get turned on to them, because everyone I've ever played them for has loved them.

You owe it to yourself to check them out, because there are very few places that you will find good old fashioned real rock n' roll like this.
Oiled Like A Fine Tuned.... 10 Aug 2014

The Quireboys are a cross between the Faces, Stones, and Chuck Berry, very basic Rock N Roll, good singing, good playing. Nothing here that I guess you could say, hasn't been done before, but, is being done, and done in the spirit that it was intended. Just good time, sing along, have a drink, let it go, Rock N Roll. In other words, this isn't rocket science, and they aren't reinventing the wheel, but they are staying true to who and what they are and what they do best. Go out and buy this, have a drink, relax, enjoy, don't pick it apart, or try and figure out who this part or song sounds like...Let it go, have a good time.
This may be their best album, featuring "Black Mariah" 24 Oct 2014
By Michael Snider - Published on Amazon.com

The Quireboys have taken the classic Stones/Faces tradition into the '90s, 00s, and '10s, and have kept the British blues-rock style alive on its home turf. If anything they have improved with age. This may be their best album, featuring "Black Mariah", a highlight of their fantastic live shows which they continue to do in the stages of the great dives of the world. Highly, highly recommended.
