I imagine it to be on similar lines to a fictional story written about Jack the Ripper (though I haven't read one). Very creepy, and as Inspector Webb has very little or no scientific aid, as people do today, you wonder how they manage to find anything out.
It is all written in the present tense, I found this a little hard to get my head around at first, however, as with most forms of writing, you get used to it!
Wonderful to read!
