Product Description

Pure beeswax and gentle lanolin are some of the ingredients which make up this soothing Weleda nappy cream which helps prevent the development of soreness and reduces existing redness, leaving baby feeling comfortable.

This is a deep-nourishing and protective barrier cream to help prevent redness and reduce soreness. A baby's skin is delicate, and this is particularly true around the nappy area. Nappies get wet and it is therefore not surprising that the skin around the nappy area may get sore. However it is not only wet nappies that may be the cause of this, as during the first two years of a baby's life, it's intestinal organism may be disturbed--this can be due to colds, teething etc, but this will also have an effect around the nappy area.

This cream provides reliable protection for the nappy area. For daily care apply after cleaning the skin with calendula oil or calendula lotion. Apply liberally, especially in the folds of the skin. This cream can still be applied to open/sore areas. To promote healing, let the baby have an hour or so without a nappy as air helps healing. Protects from irritation and inflammation, adheres well to the skin. Also useful in geriatric and nursing where tendencies to skin inflammations are observed in cases bed confinement or incontinence.

I have used Weleda's nappy change cream for my two children when they were babies, and I think it is by far the best I have come across. It works a treat, is soothing and does not sting. I always recommend this cream over any other alternative brands, natural or main stream. I still have a tube in the house (the children are now 5 and 9) for any eczema and itchy skin troubles that appear from time to time. I tend to think it is almost miraculous in the way it works. When we lived in Malaysia my daughter had a weeping eczema behind her ear and was given by a dermathologyst a cortisone based cream. It made the eczema worsen and out of despair I applied Weleda Calendula nappy cream...the eczema dried within a day and was gone in two days. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

We use cloth nappies so needed a cloth friendly cream. This stuff is wonderful. It smells great. It goes on quite thick but I don't mind that. At first I wasn't really that impressed it didn't seem to do much but then my daughter got a really sore bum (teething related I think) and sudacrem didn't do much so tried this and was much better the next morning. We now put it on overnight every night. I've also used it on her eczema and it works really well on that too. Couldn't recommend it enough.

I have used this cream for a year now - as a nappy cream it's bloomin' great.
However, my son has had AWFUL infection-prone eczema and we'd been prescribed so many steroid creams over his short twelve months of life I had become scared to use them any more. So, after trawling the internet (for the several hundredth time) I thought it couldn't harm to try a layer of this nappy cream on the parts that were really prone to inflammation, cracking and crucially, infection. Low and behold after two days the patches were subsiding - they were drying up, fading and getting better!! His skin is so so much better.
I am so pleased to have found an alternative to hydrocortisone. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, but in terms of our eczema experience it's been a godsend.

Our baby is 10 months old and has never had a nappy rash. When she was very young she got a bit pink in the side creases. This cream had been given to me by another mum at my baby shower and she raved about it. We applied it to the creases and it almost immediately cleared the pinkness. On a few occasions when we have run out of it, a bit of pinkness has started to reappear but disappears again on application of this amazing product. Given she's also had a couple of nasty tummy bugs with severe diarrhea lasting up to a week, and we still haven't had a nappy rash, I think this product is incredible.

I recommended it to a friend who's baby had a very nasty rash despite using other nappy creams. She used my cream once and said there was a noticeable difference after one night. She went out the next day and got her own and said it cleared it right up.

I can find it at my big Boots (right next to a Mothercare) but have not seen it in any other Boots I've been to. I find it easier now to buy it on line from Amazon.

I've used this cream for 6 years, on three children. It is the best nappy cream I have ever tried. It is also a fantastic barrier cream, and I've used it on dribble rashes, patches of eczema, pityrisis, and chicken pox and it works a treat. It is a thick heavy cream, with a subtle fragrance so ideal for small patches, although I have used it successfully on large areas by applying it to my palms and patting it into the skin, especially if the area has already been moisturised with oil or lotion. Highly recommended.

I have been using this cream since the birth of my daughter and she had no reds at all. When it finished and I used another one which is considered a good cream I realised how good the Weleda is.

I thought I would be buying Calendula Diaper Care at 81ml, as it was advertised by the seller, but I received Nappy Change Cream at 75ml. I am not bothered by the difference in the quantity, however, I specifically wanted the Diaper Care cream as I read excellent reviews about the product.
The one I got is good but, if I had wanted to buy this one I would have gone to places like Boots. I appreciate Weleda might have changed the packaging, but apparently also the quality (i.e. the consistency and the fragrance of the product!).
I bought it on line as I was hoping was to get access to some old stock and receive the product advertised in the picture. I kept the cream as it is fine (although it is slightly watery and does not smell great) but why would you sell a product under a different picture and information?
Keep in mind you may not get what is advertised if you are buying from the same seller as I did.

I've bought about 4 of these now - it's pricey but one of those things that seems worth it. I only use when i see a bit of redness and it soothes instantly. I have been lucky though and not suffered with any big nappy rash episodes and so couldn't comment on how effective it is in extreme cases. It's smells heavenly and does the trick for us.
