3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars: Live version of 'Songs from the lions cage', 21 Sep 2003
By Manny Hernandez "@askmanny" - Published on Amazon.com

With 'Welcome to the Stage' the prog rock act Arena presents a live version of their album 'Songs from the lions cage' along with three other tracks ("The Healer", "Sirens" and "Medusa") accompanying and the "William Tell Overture" starting the set in a very 'Gazza Ladra'-like fashion, so make sure you like their studio work before you get this album. They display a lot of strength and their lead man does remind of Fish more than once. Overall this album deserves 3.5 stars. I don't see much point for it (it doesn't add too much musically to their work) yet it's not quite average.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live album, 23 Nov 2003

Very few live albums that I like and this one I do appreciate. I think it is a good compromise not to purchase "Songs from the lions cage" and "Pride". The best songs of those two albums are on there. My favorites being "Solomon" and "Sirens" followed by "Medusa" and "Jericho".

Yes, it sound like old Marillion and that is why I purchase that album. Fish and Marillion are not making it since they splitted and Arena was a great subsitute.

Plus, it was recorded over here in Quebec.
