Better quality and larger images of the same jewellery fill a German language hardcover book, available through Amazon and now reduced to £29. 75p.with 152 pages. This is, "Glanzstucke, Emilie Floge und der Schmuck der Wiener Werkstatte," published by Arnoldsche, a very high quality publisher. I paid £35, but was thrilled with it as the prolific images on superb paper have such clarity in spite of the enlargement, and the text is minimal[I know no German] At the same time, unaware that the images should be duplicated in "Wiener Werkstatte Jewellery," by Janis Higgs,I ordered an "as new " copy from Alibris, USA, postage £2.79p. It was a new hardcover, just shelf worn, and half the price of the copies still offered through Amazon. The original publication price was $45.00.for 114 pages. In view of the high prices now being asked,I recommend considering the above alternative. The loss of stars reflects my perception of lack of value for money, and does not reflect upon the scholarship of Janis Higgs of which a leisurely reading is likely to take less than an hour. Had I purchased Janis Higgs' book first, then seen inside of the German language one, I should have gone on to purchase the latter, as well, but not the other way around. To see many of the images common to both books with English text and a piece by Janis Higgs just Google, "Wiener Werkstatte Jewellery Neue Galerie" which shall give you the website of the American gallery which hosted the exhibition of the jewellery of her book.
