I didn't expect too much from this book given how much I've read about the subject in the past, but the very first few pages proved me wrong and ever so glad I have it! The amount and quality of information and the way they are put together, make this book a page turner, but most importantly a plateau breaker! Yes, just as advanced exercising techniques could help you overcame your physical plateau, this book can generate the motivation that many of us have lost due to work and family obligations, career paths and reasons that are always plentiful in this modern and chaotic age we live in. Best of all, the author is well aware of this, and aims his entire philosophy at fighting the stress and aging through very unusual but eye opening view of the effects that weight training can have on our health! He does this not only by explaining what other top athletes either don't know or don't want you to know, but also by taking it from the very beginning, as (as I just find out) once you develop a routine, it can slowly and unnoticeably morph into a bad and damaging form, but you never notice this because you think there is no need to pay attention to the basics since you've been exercising for so long... The same goes for your knowledge! Information is not worth much if you don't know its meaning and importance! Shame I had to wait for so long to discover the true meaning and value of so many things I thought I knew and understood. But not many athletes are capable of expressing or even understanding the underlying processes that led to their achievements! Nash does this good, and the book got me thinking about taking the sport seriously once again!
