Please note: If you are a Paleo eater like me and enjoy living by Mark Sisson's "80/20 rule," (eat a strict Paleo diet 80% of the time and relax a little bit the other 20%), you will find one recipe that offers you the suggestion of using some aged cheeses or butter if you can tolerate dairy. Also, because the issue of bacon continues to be an ongoing debate, bacon is also a suggestion in a couple of recipes for you to consider enjoying on occasion if you desire. very useful ideas for my packed lunches for work, stops it all getting a bit samey and bland, although low carb is by no way bland but we all need a variety of different choices to reduce the the risk of eating all the rubbish that is on sale and so easily avaliable

All of the books from this author on the paleo diet have been great with a variety of recipes to choose from. If your new to the diet then these are great books to start from. If your already on the diet its still a good book series because of the variety that will be added to your collection of recipes.

As received on my Kindle, this book opens at the page headed "Salads". If one flips the pages forwards from this point, the impression gained is that there is no Table of Contents whatsoever. It is only if one thinks of going way backwards from "Salads" by pressing the "return" button repeatedly for a long while that one discovers, in due course, that there actually IS a Table of Contents squirrelled away in there at some point. Pressing the Menu button and then "Go to . . ." is of no help, because the "table of contents" button is mysteriously dimmed out in that display, falsely signifying lack of a TOC.

I suggest this book be programmed to open initially at the TOC instead of at the Salads page, so as to spare the new reader this annoyance.

That said, I just received the book and am only browsing through it. I appreciate the brief Paleo Primer included at the outset. I wish the recipes had been provided with an indication of the number of servings each one represents. Other than that minor kvetch, however, everything looks great and I am looking forward to trying out some of this paleo stuff starting maybe tomorrow!

Amelia Simmons has written another great cookbook. I noticed this book when I was looking for info on the paleo diet for my mum. She has had various health issues and has been looking into this for awhile now (she can't use the pc, no matter how much I have tried to teach her). Most cookbooks will get straight to the recipes but I like how there is a great intro. It tells you in a brief but very helpful manner what primarily this diet is and what should or should not be consumed. The recipes look great so I'm sure my mum will be happy to start using some of them. I'm sure she can use her kindle!

Some great ideas for lunch, the soups especially are wonderful! Mostly soups and wraps. It is kind of a small book but for a short, concise recipe book for lunch ideas it is good.
