Description:

After a family member eliminates a competitor with a croquet mallet, the Weeds family hits the road again in the sixth season of the Showtime dramedy. With his relationship in tatters, Andy joins up with Nancy and the boys. On the way to Seattle, the Botwins become the Newmans, who aim to lead a non-drug dealing existence. Promises Nancy: "It's a whole new life." All the while, her husband, Esteban, is on their trail.

In the Jet City, they find work at a hotel, where they tangle with a no-nonsense manager and a sadistic chef. Soon, Nancy soon adds "herbal relaxation therapy" to the maid service she provides, Silas gives college life a try, and babysitter Shane falls in with a trio of soccer moms. After Esteban's men kidnap Doug, they head towards the Midwest, where Nancy has a fling with a hunky bartender on her way to visit a figure from her past. In Michigan, Silas uncovers a family secret and one fugitive stops running.

If the year gets off to a bumpy start, Weeds finds its footing once the cast leaves Ren Mar. As ever, Parker holds the scenario together by finding the likability in a character who often does unlikable things. Extras include a gag reel, three featurettes (including one in which Kirk and Nealon interview each other), and eight commentaries with cast and crew, plus guest stars Hemky Madera (Ignacio) and Enrique Castillo (Cesar), director Tate Donovan, and creator Jenji Kohan, who describes season six as "a sort of road movie."

So, this batch of "Weeds" didn't quite hit the spot... there's no doubt that the last three seasons of the show were not as magical as the first three, but it is just as dark, funny, heart-warming in a weird way, cynical, and too good to pass.
In this season, Nancy and her family are on the run from the law, leaving to Canada. Where their lives change dramatically, as does the series.
One of the entire reason "Weeds" was so popular when it first started was because of its irony. In the show, a well-off soccer mom sells pot to the friendly people of Agrestic/Majestic, and what is the result? Pure, adult comic, genius.
In this season, however, things are very different. Do I miss the old Weeds? Yes. But, one has to hand it to the show. There are very few TV-series out there that are brave enough to completely change a winning formula that already has a large fan base, and dive head first into the unknown.
But don't get me wrong, there are still elements to the show that we love about, and the twists and turns are hardly dull. And then there's the great soundtrack, or better still, the brilliant season finale.
If you have loved Weeds, I recommend buying it.
Haven't seen it before? Watch the first three seasons first.

After the dismal Weeds - Season 5 [DVD] I had all but written off Weeds, I mean can a show ever recover from the season this show had. It went from being a must see between seasons 1-4 to being a borefest with way too many useless characters in season 5. Celia Hodes went from the meanest, funniest and greatest character in history to being why is she still here?. Dean made an unwelcome return is season 5 and lets just forget Isabelle. Anyway ding dond they are all gone without the slightest mention. Doug returns and is back to his loveable best with some cracking one liners. To be honest I never liked Nancy, it was all about her but thankfully the writers have noticed we can't like her or have sympathy for her so play her for the self centred, manipulative character she is and make her all the better fot it. One downside is the humour is less subversive than it used to be; we all know the liberal undertones to this show but now they have gone for a more Two and a Half Men style blatant in your face approach. The results are varied, I laughed more in a cringworthy sense, thinking really you can't be more clever with your left-wing liberal agenda/humour than this-see the State Fair episode, their all hicks and intermarried. Still funny but not as clever as it one was. Lets face it with the rubbish on T.V these days a show like Weeds is one of a kind. I'm glad it's back to it's best and can't wait for season 7.

Season 6 is such a relief after a pretty poor season 5, Weeds is one of my favourite shows ever so it was disappointing to not want to watch it anymore, but I persevered and the final episode was much better and left me with hope for this one.
The story picks up right where the last left it, after Shane has killed Pilar and so begins a fun filled season on the run.
Theres lots of variety in this season as the Botwin family travel to lots of different locations but the family relationships are much stronger and some of the tired characters have gone.
If you were losing interest like me, then please give it another go as it gets much better, back to what made us love it in the first place, Weeds really is a uniquely fantastic show and I can't wait for season 7.
