I'm a keen fan of weeds and also got my wife hooked on it. Not weeds but the show. It's always hard to keep things fresh and there are some scenes when you think 'yeah right' and some scenes are predictable. On the whole a good season but I wish something bad would happen to the lead actress. She always gets away with things, but suffers as a terrible mom. All the usual case are funny, and on the ball, the 'Mayor' though is a dodgy actor though, needs more training.

Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) continues her journey as a, somewhat, innocent abroad in a world of crime and discovers more and more about what goes on in that life. While she has few scruples and views supplying weed to adults as simple matter of tax free supply and demand with herself in the role of entrepreneur only mildly inconvenienced by the illegality of her chosen trade, the folk she has to associate with in perusing this career have no reservations whatsoever. Re-located down south Nancy has to confront the realization that weed is not the only commodity crossing the boarder, her response to the dilemma this presents could be hazardous but could provide a chance for new love. Nancy also has to deal with another contemporary social difficulty in the shape of the bed ridden aged mother of her father-in-law. Weeds continues to be enjoyable TV, darkly comic, well scripted and acted, yet, if you care to allow it, Weeds stimulates thought about a number of issues unresolved in the modern world. My only disappointment is that to date Season 6 is not available in region 2 format. (This season 5 region 2 DVD is a Dutch import but it is in the original English language only the writing on packaging is in Dutch). Still with an 18 rating this season we get to glimpse some decorously revealing views of M-L Parker and as Nancy says in one scene 'good for you!' However there are many more reasons than that to own and enjoy Weeds season 5.

Seasons 1-3 of this show was sublime, I mean perfect. Season 4 had change which was o.k, I didn't notice any drop in quality, still 5 stars but this Season has been difficult to watch at times; most times. In the early seasons I felt episodes were far too short; I would just be getting into them then BAM over. But I always wanted more; this season is different; I had to keep checking to see when the episode would be over; some times only 14 minutes had went by. First of all let it be known I never liked Nancy but the brilliant side characters made up for her; sadly this is no longer the case. Doug is becoming more annoying as every episode passes; no more brilliant one liners just sad recycled quips; Andy is useless but has some moments and Ceila is still in this show for some pointless reason(yeah she rocked in seasons 1-3 but has no more point in this show). Shane has some promise but Silas is as talentless as ever. I would have given this one star but I'm hoping Season 6 is better before giving up altogether.

Weeds 5
Series 5 of Weeds is just as good as all the others. Although mine was a Dutch import, everything was in English apart from the info on the box jacket. Read more

Terrific
I wasn't really fond of Weeds until I saw this season. It's fantastic. And the last episode is terrific. Maybe less black than the other seasons, but just for the first episodes. Read more
