WeeRide Deluxe Front Mounted Children's Bike Seat

The WeeRide Deluxe Kangaroo kid's bike seat has been designed to provide a safe, comfortable and fun ride for your child.

The patented mounting bar puts your child’s weight central to the bike, the most important and unique feature of the WeeRide seat. Plus, the child sees what you see – you are easily able to have a conversation with them as you cycle, point out items of interest and they are always in your eye line so you can see them as well as talk to them as you travel. Other features include: a 5 point safety harness, enclosed foot wells to keep your child’s feet well away from the wheels, foot wells are movable and so grow with your child, padded seat, headrest for the little one to fall asleep on, and they do when they are little and when they older the headrest turns into an exciting steering wheel.

The WeeRide Kangaroo has been designed to fit as many bikes as possible, incorporating men’s, women’s, full suspension and oversized head tubes. As long as you have an adult bike, the seat should fit. The only thing you need to check is that you have at least 49cm from your seat post (the pole under the seat) to your headset (where the handlebar stem enters the bike’s frame). The seat takes around 10 minutes to fit and is very simple. Once the bar has been fitted, it stays there. When you want to ride on your own, you remove the seat in seconds and ride away. With the additional purchase of another bar you can easily mount the seat to another bike so either parent can take the child.

The WeeRide Deluxe seat is officially used from aged 1 to 4, but has been used from as young as 6 months with a child who has strong enough neck muscles.

Winner of Mumsnet Baby Seat of the year 2012 and 2013.

Manufacturer's Description

The WeeRide Deluxe has all the benefits of the WeeRide Classic but takes the child’s comfort to the next level. It Is recommended for ages from 1-4 years. Though can be used as soon as neck muscles are strong enough ie 6-9 months.

It allows the rider to communicate with their child, and the child’s needs can be dealt with. They have an interesting view for the child, not just your back! The patented bar puts weight in centre of bike and not on front like other front seats, there is no attachment to the handlebars which we believe is dangerous. You feel the child is more secure with your arms around them. The seat can be fitted easily within 10 minutes, you can see a video online for this. The seat can be removed in seconds for solo riding. It has a headrest for baby to sleep, which they do at an early age. There are no dangling legs as moveable footrests. It fits all bikes including oversized head tubes and full suspension of 16”+ (except drop handle bars). Comes with its own bar so fits to Ladies and Mens bikes. There is a 5 point safety strap and enclosed movable footrests for child safety. Everything you need is in the box including the seat, bar and tools. The Deluxe seat adds plush padding on seat and headrest adding extra support for smaller children. The WeeRide Classic is Business Class travel, the Deluxe is First. Don’t send your child Economy! Our centre mounted seat puts all the weight centrally and your child is safely wrapped in your arms. The first time you ride the seat you realise why the reviews are so good as it is such fun being able to chat to your child and point things out. This is the most popular seat in the UK and US for good reason. And that is why it is the only front seat stocked by the major stores

I'm not too sure what to make of this chair yet. I have used it about 10 times with my 16 month old over the summer, he likes it, but not on days where its breezy as he does not like the wind directly in his face. I am a fit cyclist and find that having to have my legs slightly open is using a whole lot of different muscles - and it hurts! When I looked at the reviews before buying I did not notice this mentioned, so thought it was worth me noting it. If I had my time again I would go for a traditional behind the rider one, this would save all the wind in my sons face too.

I wanted a front seat as it didnt seem fair for my little girl to just look at my back. I also wanted to talk to her, and be able to help her if she had any problems, or was worried.
I went for the Weeride after reading lots of reviews by customers and experts, all of which seemed to give it the thumbs up.
It was a little fiddly to fix, but still all done and dusted in under 20 mins, so no major complaint.
The first thing I noticed was how sturdy it all felt with the solid bar and well made seat.
I went for the Deluxe model as my daughter is only 9 months old and I wanted to give her as much support as possible. The seat is certainly very plush.
Even with that comfort she still cried when i first put her in. I think straping my little one into anything would bring on the waterworks. But they stopped as soon as we got moving, and she was soon in fits of giggles.
We had such a laugh and I felt she was completely safe with my arms wrapped around her.
The only issue I found was that every time we stopped we would have another person asking us about the seat!
One other small point, is that at 5ft 2 and using a small bike, the seat was close to me. It meant I had to ride with my knees out a little.
But not a big deal for me, especially when I consider the fun we get from the seat.
Big thumbs up!

I saw a guy using one of these when i was on holiday in Devon and his child looked so happy. When i got home i started researching child bike seats and came across this one and many others.
I liked the look of the way this seat mounted, on a very sturdy bar that spans the distance between the head tube and seat tube, not just clips to the stem like others appear too. This is good as my bike has a cranked top tube and a boxy stem.
My daughter is only 7 months old and is strong enough to hold her head with the helmet, we have been out once so far, the straps on the belt are a little to long and dont adjust small enough without a little re-engineering. Once I got her strapped in off we went, it is uncomfortable at first being short for a man at 5ft3inches and riding a small framed bike having your knees stuck out. But you do get used to it and as we are not in any hurry just cycling round the park for some fresh air it keeps the pace down and you see more.
As for comfort for baby, my daughter fell asleep after about half an hour, i feel she is at the moment still a little small for this seat (but the manufactuer does not recommend use before 9 months so my fault)as her head does not reach the padded head rest.
All in i believe for casual riding use this product is awesome, you can see and interact with your child and have great fun going out on your bike. I think i was a bit eager to get out with my little one but we see the fun this product will bring us in the future, when she is big enough to sit and rest her head comfortably in the seat.
Many thanks to Wee Ride.

As my husband and I do lots of cycling spent a while looking for a really safe seat so our new little one could join us. Read lots of reviews but this one seemed best and really liked the idea of having Jake where I could see him! Mat at weerideuk gave quick and accurate replies to my queries both before and after purchase and I was very impressed with the service I received. The seat is great, quite small but will fit baby fine and I am getting used to riding with my knees out a bit! My husband wasn't keen on me riding with Jake but having fitted the seat (which was quite easy to do) he is more than happy that he will be safe and now wants to take him on his bike too!

after much swithering about which bike seat was best, I decided on this. I ruled out the trailer style bike seats, as I didn't like the lower visibility of having my son close to the ground, even though at least he couldn't fall from any height, it still worried me.

I was then torn between front and back bike seats, but just decided to go for the front seat as I thought I'd prefer to be able to see him and make sure he was happy while we were on the bike.

I've been very impressed so far. The seat was very easy to fit. A bar with a couple of brackets that screw together to the front and back post were pretty straightforward. Then the seat screws onto this bar. Easy to setup, and feels solid once complete.

Seat itself is easy to use. Usual style harness holds the little one steady - has to be fairly tight, unless you want the wee one to be looking at the ground - my son was very interested in the ground whizzing past, though then makes it tricky to turn the bike!

My son is about 1 year, 2 months old (at time of writing), and he loves it. He constantly chattering when on the bike, pointing things out, and waving at people as we go past. Only negative point is that once we're back home, he cries and points outside demanding to go back out on it!

In summary, highly recommended!
