I bought this film as I was recommended it by a friend years ago, and I like Rutger Hauer films in general. Well this film certainly isn't one of his best, but for die hard fans of Rutger Hauer is worth seeing. It doesn't really live up to his lead roles in say Blind Fury, but he survives sufficiently. Problem here seems to be that apart from Mimi Rogers the supporting cast is rather "bargin basement" material and thus lowers the viewing standard of what is otherwise a fairly decent story. The story itself centres around Rutger Hauer, having been double crossed after a robbery ending up in a high-tech prison where everyone is "Wedlocked" to an unknown partner by explosive collars, the collars being like the ones used at the beginning of The Running Man. It is quite amusing the way there are no locks or walls in the prison, and all the prisoners are stopping each other from escaping. The collars certainly are the centre of the story and result in some close escapes. To sum up there have been better Rutger Hauer films. This one is average, the idea is good, but it could have been done better.
