Not just for Women as I often caught my 'soon to be husband now husband' reading it and taking notes for his own speech!
This book came higly recommended from a friend. She used it to help prepare her for her own speech and I knew she was well received leaving everyone moved by her chosen words, so was very interested in having the ability to do the same. I wasn't too sure about whether to make a speech or not, but this book helped me to decide and also gave me courage by giving gentle suggestions on how to do things and what to cover and in what order. Being a complete bag of nerves on the day, admittedly I did forget half of the speech, but because of how the book helped me to construct what I really wanted to say, I remembered the bits that truly mattered to me and how to get my message across which ultimately helped me to bring my new husband to peace with his sisters. So thank you Suzan for a great and practical book.

When I picked up this handbook about wedding speeches, I didn't realise how useful a tome it would be, and how often I would refer to it.
Not only does the author give memorable hints, tips and techniques along with a load of brilliant references, resources and jokes that would make any budding speech maker enjoy the challenge of preparation, but she also gives ideas about how to develop the content and structure. A must for anyone who needs to give a speech at anytime; it's another informative, amusing and totally desirable guide book. I've gained confidence in using some humour in my public speaking plus I had also forgotten how much fun it is to make up limericks about people you know - even if you are not going to speak about them.

Even if you're not the sort of person who associates public speaking with jellified legs, panic attacks and a strong desire for the earth to open up under your feet... you will still learn lots from this book. Suzan St Maur tackles every aspect of public speaking at weddings systematically and helpfully - from how to prepare, what to say and how to deliver it, how to ensure everyone hears and understands you, how to use humour effectively... in short, how to deliver an absolutely top notch, never-to-be-repeated wedding speech. I shall be referring to this book for a long time - not only for weddings. Superb!
