Product Description

Product Description
Sarah is a wedding planner hiding a rather inconvenient truth - she doesn't believe in love. Or not for herself, anyway. But as the confetti flutters away on the June breeze of yet another successful wedding she somehow finds herself agreeing to organise two more, on the same day and only two months away. And whilst her celebrity bride is all sweetness and light, her own sister soon starts driving her mad with her high expectations but very limited budget. Luckily Sara has two tried and tested friends on hand to help her. Elsa, an accomplished dress designer who likes to keep a very low profile, and Bron, a multi-talented hairdresser who lives with her unreconstructed boyfriend and who'd like to go solo in more ways than one. They may be very good at their work but romance doesn't feature very highly in any of their lives. As the big day draws near all three women find that patience is definitely a virtue in the marriage game. And as all their working hours are spent preparing for the wedding of the year plus one they certainly haven't got any time to even think about love . or have they?

5.0 out of 5 stars Light 'n breezy, 19 Jun 2008
WEDDING SEASON IS THE perfect summer read, or perfect read for anytime of the year. I rank this right up there with THIS CHARMING MAN and THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. This is story of Sarah, Bron, and Elsa who seem to have the knack of pulling off the perfect weddings and organizing everything . . . but their own lives. The contrast between their Swiss-watch perfection in making other's dreams come true, and the funny events that ruin and run their own lives is refreshing and somehow real-life-like. The dialogue is great and the characters are three dimensional. What was the one thing I didn't like about WEDDING SEASON? I couldn't put it down.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too trite, too long, 29 Dec 2008
By Ginny (Martha's Vineyard) - See all my reviews
I've read all of Katie Fforde's books, unfortunately the quality has been slowly declining. Her early books were really enjoyable, with interesting and plausible plots. Of the more recent books only GOING DUTCH has been worth reading. While her recent books are still light hearted and somewhat engaging, they are really light weight. WEDDING SEASON is, frankly, boring. It would have benefitted from a rigorous editing, eliminating about 100 pages or so. It is trite, predictable, and repetitive. The three main characters Sarah, Elsa, and Bron have good qualities, but sister Lily, and client Carrie are so truly obnoxious and spoiled that one wonders why anyone would wish to marry them. I kept skipping through the book in the hope that it would improve; sadly, it didn't. Don't bother with this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant book from Katie Fforde, 3 Jun 2008
A wonderful story of 3 women who become friends because they all spend time making other people's wedding day perfect. The story revolves around Sarah, the wedding organiser, who doesn't want to believe in love. This has all the usual Katie Fforde wit and sense of humour, with 3 gorgeous heroes to fall in love with. So easy to lose yourself in the story - left me smiling all day.
