    Product Description

This book tickles my toes and warms my heart. You will want to get a warm cup of chocolate and some nice tasty cookies or wafers to enjoy while reading this wonderful tale. Having such illustrative words gives you the total picture of what is going on as the plot thickens in all the right spots. This book naturally leads you in the direction your heart yearns to go. It has enough conflict to remind you that even characters lives have chaos, which is not always so easy to figure out. It is realistic yet very much like a fairytale. A movie, audio book and most definitely a sequel would be welcomed as it is rich with memorable events and makes you smile with understanding. The cover is very indicative of the story magical.

    Rating: Four Cups

    --Coffee Time Romance & More

In this wildly passionate, touching and sometimes funny story, James portrays two brokenhearted souls who connect and magically find a way to love again. Most of the book has an offbeat, almost fairy-tale feel, but it's uplifting and satisfying. James spins her story with hope in mind, and her characters help us believe in castles in the air without equivocation.

    Four stars.

--RT Book Reviews Magazine, July 2013

Oh, what a joy it was reading this story! When I started to read it I thought that it would be yet another predictable book about fake boyfriends. I was wrong, very wrong to be exact. The Wedding Diary is anything but predictable.

...Furthermore the descriptions are so well written that I felt like I was in London, England countryside and Toscana while reading this story.

I love this story, because it made me feel good all around. So if you like well written, funny, happy and feel good romances, go grab this one.

    More About the Author

Margaret James was born in Hereford, a beautiful cathedral city in the English Midlands. She started writing fiction when her children were very small, and her first novel A Touch of Earth was published in 1988.

Since then, she has expanded her range of writing-related activities to take in journalism, short story writing, teaching creative writing and editing other people's books.

She was delighted when her novel Elegy for a Queen was featured in the UK's Woman and Home magazine in a selection of the five best time slip novels. The fact that Margaret's own favourite time slip novel The House on the Strand was also featured put a big grin on her face!

Since becoming a novelist, Margaret has realised that having a name like Margaret James leads to lots of confusion, and in her next life she intends to have a name that she shares with absolutely nobody else.

When she's not writing, Margaret loves walking, reading anything and everything, gossiping, gardening and eating chocolate. She quite often manages to eat chocolate and write at the same time, which occasionally makes for a somewhat sticky keyboard, but also makes for happy writing.

Just for the record - this Margaret James wrote: A Touch of Earth, Fortune's Favourite Child, The Treasures of Existence, The Snake Stone, A Green Bay Tree, The Ash Grove, A Special Inheritance, The Final Reckoning, Hallowed Ground, The Morning Promise, The Long Way Home, The Penny Bangle, Elegy for a Queen, The Silver Locket, The Golden Chain, The Wedding Diary, and she contributed to the anthology Loves Me, Loves Me Not. Margaret's latest novel is Magic Sometimes Happens. The Silver Locket, The Golden Chain and The Penny Bangle are available as a Kindle download entitled The Charton Minster Trilogy.

She was thrilled when The Silver Locket won a prestigious Cataromance Single Titles Award in 2010, and when the cover of The Golden Chain was chosen to feature on the design of a KLM airliner in 2011.The Wedding Diary was shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists' Association's RoNA award for romantic comedy 2014.

Margaret and Cathie Hartigan are co-authors of The Creative Writing Student's Handbook, which takes students through the entire creative writing process. The Short Story Writer's Workbook is the second of their bestselling guides for writers and is published in ebook and paperback.

Margaret says: my friends and I love Christmas and this year - 2015 - we've published a collection of short stories, quizzes and puzzles for the festive season. You can find A Christmas Celebration here:

Merry Christmas for 2015 and for decades to come!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a fantastic love story xxx 6 May 2013
By Megan ReadingInTheSunshine TOP 500 REVIEWER
Cat Aston has won what many girls and women dream of - a fairytale wedding! However, there is one slight problem...Cat's fiance Jack has dome a runner. Adam Lawley has been left similarly left devastated after his girlfriend turned down his proposal, leaving Adam vowing not to fall in love again. When Adam and Cat bump into each other, there seems to be an attraction, and although they are both broken hearted, they can't stop thinking about each other. Will Cat and Adam be able to find happiness together?

I absolutely loved The Wedding Diary! The way I would describe it is that it is such a happy read! I was genuinely delighted as I read it and I always looked forward to returning to it on an evening or after I had finished dinner.

The characters were wonderfully written. I warmed to Cat straight away. She had such a fantastic personality, she was so warm and likeable, and whilst reading I desperately wanted her to find happiness and love again. Adam...oh he was lovely! He was such a gentleman and I fell in love with him straight away. I loved his feeling towards Cat, I loved how he was with her, and reading about them together made my heart warm. Even though the relationship between them is not all plain sailing, I was hooked and I was rooting for them!

The secondary characters were brilliant, and had me laughing out loud many times! Fanny in particular was very memorable, and actually turned out to be one of my favourite characters!

The settings are beautifully described, especially the Italian town of Lucca. When I was reading these scenes, I felt as though I had been transported there and when I had finished I was actually rather disappointed to find that I was actually in my living room!

4.0 out of 5 stars An uplifting chick lit 18 May 2013
    By Shazjera TOP 1000 REVIEWER
I don't usually mention covers in my reviews but couldn't resist! The cover is stunning. The butterflies , moon and stars sparkle and alongside the background midnight blue makes you want to pick it up and find out what's between the pages.

It's Saturday 23rd April Jack has gone off to find himself and Cat is alone when she receives the phone call to tell her she's won first prize in the competition in which she entered months ago.

Adam Lawley proposes to pretentious girlfriend Maddy and is left heart-broken when he realises how lightly she's taken their relationship.

When Cat and Adam meet at Chapman's Architectural Salvage, Adam is looking for Cotswold tiles and Cat is the Office Manager who takes him into the yard to find them.

With our main characters in place, we begin a humorous and sometimes stressful romantic journey.

I was fascinated by Adam's job as a freelance project manager in restorations. This is integral to the story and very believable.

I loved the banter between Cat and her best friends Bex and Tess.

    Being in Tuscany was great!

What I really liked about the plot is the fact that it isn't drawn out. Half-way through I thought, where is this taking us? We've nowhere left to go ... so I loved the how the plot changed after this.

I really liked Cat until something happens half-way through a trip which I thought was unfeeling and callous. I understood why she abandoned the journey and made her way back home but she done it with so little care that I found it hard to identify with her after that.

The romance is very uplifting. I have to say that sometimes, more can be conveyed from shutting the door on those bedroom scenes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun and light hearted read xXx 11 May 2013
By realovesbooks TOP 500 REVIEWER TOP 1000 REVIEWER
    Format:Kindle Edition
I was looking forward to starting The Wedding Diary by Margaret James with my wedding plans storming ahead I love falling into other peoples wedding worlds. This book follows Cat who has won a wedding of her dreams in a competition only problem is her groom Jack has gone walk about! Refusing to accept that he has gone Cat follows through with the meetings for the wedding and it is only when she meets Adam and she feels as though there is something between them that she breaks down and admits to Adam that she is having a fairy tale wedding with no groom! Will Cat get her groom for her ideal wedding?

This was a very fun and light hearted read. Both Adam and Cat were very well developed characters who were both genuine and lovable characters and you could see from the moment you met them that they would be perfect together I was just hoping that the outcome of the story was all I hoped it would be but it turned out to be that and a whole lot more.

The author set a wonderful scene in Italy I really felt as though I could visualise the surroundings. It left me daydreaming about a trip to Italy, well we can all dream can't we! My one little niggle was judging by the title of the book I thought there was going to be rather a lot more about the wedding subject but unfortunately this wasn't the case but this could just be the Bridezilla in me at the moment talking!

The storyline was so easy to follow and was so enjoyable that you will fly through this book in no time. I hope Margaret James will write another contemporary romance as this book was delightful.
