He's turned Jade down once before. But this time?

This is the third and final book about 3 brothers. Nic's grandfather has stated in his will that he must Marry family friend Jade and stay married for one year for them both to inherit the money he has left them.
They have known each other years and Jade came on to Nic when she was just 16 but he turned her down. She then lost her virginity to his friend and over the years has developed a reputation as a 'tart' (and of course she isn't). Nic is known for his playboy ways and does not want to settle down.
Jade has never worked but paints pictures although nobody knows this side of her. She wants to marry Nic as she needs the money. At first it would seem she is a money grabber but early on we are let into a secret she is holding back from everyone (won't spoil it) and it is then apparent as to why she can't work.
They agreed to marry as were both attracted to one another although Jade tells Nic from the start that it will not be a physical marriage (this doesn't last long!). I felt the author spent too long on the first few weeks of their marriage and not wishing to spoil the storyline I felt the ending was rushed and everything came together all at once. The story could have done with more padding out!
Good read though.

"The Sabbatini Brother's.....three powerful playboys from the richest dynasty in Europe! Ruthless, irresistible....impossible to tame?"

The above doesn't even describe Nic Sabbatini. Like his brother's he's sexy as sin and mad as hell because his grandfather made provisions in his will, ones that include a red haired siren by the name off Jade Summerville. A young woman desperate because her trust fund has been cut off. A young woman who wants the money now because Nic's grandfather wanted to see them married and to receive the money depended upon them getting married by a certain date. So what does she do when Nic throws her out of his office? She follows him to Venice, posed as his fiance and leaked it to the press.

What a little vixen I thought and a brilliant one at that because they had to stay married for a year. She could do this or could she? As Nic pointed out when she was sixteen she'd had a crush on Nic and he had turned her down. What was it that his grandfather saw in her to want this union to take place. Would Nic agree to this sort of marriage, I wondered? Would he fall for her like his brother's fell for their wives? Well they did get married with family and friends in attendance and settled into the family villa. The same villa where the Sabbatini baby girl had passed away at an early age from crib death. A lot of bad memories for their mother and his two older brother's.

When Nic finally realized everything said about Jade by the press was false and also realized how much he wanted her in his bed, their relationship moved forward. They dined out, he realized how talented she was as an artist, he encouraged her to do something with her talent. Nic couldn't seem to get enough of Jade and he began to realize one of the most important things about Jade. Due to loosing her mother at such a young age and the death of her brother in later years and a father who did nothing to encourage her, who only mourned the loss of his son, all Jade wanted was to be loved. He also realized something else, when they finally divorced, who would be around to protect her? However, most importantly, who would protect her?

And then like a lightening bolt, her realized she had been carrying around a secret, one that had also shaped her life, she couldn't read. He realized this in the end, when she asked to take some time away from him and go to London. He had missed her and it made him think that his crafty grandfather by putting them together had done it for a reason. He had hoped that Jade and Nic would fall in love. When Nic realized he had always loved Jade and gave her all of the explanations for not wanting to be vulnerable, trust me, have a box of tissues ready. The Wedding Charade and Jade and Nic's story will melt your heart. Melanie Milburne did such an incredible job with this three book series.Giorgio, Luca and Nic's individual stories were amazing.

The Wedding Charade (Harlequin Presents)This is the first book I've read by this author--and it was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. Rich socialite Jade has to marry rich hero Nic so that they can inherit funds they need for different reasons. The heroine is no pushover and that's an understatement. The book tackles the issue of severe dyslexia and I felt in the short period of time was able to give us a good understanding of both characters. Nic does try all of the macho tactics other HP males try--but Jade stands up to him...and it's well done so she doesn't come across cold.
There was one scene however that stood out for me...it stemmed from an incident Jade had with Nic's housekeeper. When Jade and Nic got engaged, Jade moved into his home and meets the housekeeper for the first time. As you HP fans know--this can go either way--the cold/nasty housekeeper or the nice one. This one was one of the cold nasty ones. What I loved was that this time however, the cold nasty housekeeper met a modern woman--and got what she deserved. Here's an exerp from book with that scene:
"The housekeeper at Nic's villa was austere and unwelcoming right from the moment Jade stepped through the imposing front door. Guilia Rossetti gave Jade an up and down look that would have stripped a century of wallpaper from a wall. 'So this is Nicolo's future bride," she said, making a guttural sound of disgust in her throat. 'He could have done much better. I read all about you. You're not worthy of the Sabbatini name. You will bring nothing but harm and shame to him an to the family, I am sure of it.'
Jade straightened her spine and stared down the dark-eyed Italian. 'If you want to keep working for my future husband, then I would advise you to keep your opinions to yourself.' Jade pointed to the bags the driver had placed at the foot of the stairs. 'You can unpack for me and then I would like a gin and tonic brought up to my room, ready waiting for me after my shower,'

---------------
well done writer...and I hope other HP writers take note that there's no housekeeper I know of that would ever get away talking like that to somebody's finance....glad one writer thought so too.

I seriously felt that the author vindicated every HP heroine who was WRITTEN to take crap from a bitchy family housekeeper. That one episode was worth the entire book...that aside, it was a good book. Kudos to the author.

Review: In the third and final book of the Sabbatini Brothers Series by Melanie Milburne we meet the young, sexy and feisty Nic Sabbatini and the spunky "tart" Jade. Nic and Jade are old but not great family friends, who after a fall out have not spoken to each other in years.

See when Jade was 16 she came onto Nic hot, heavy and strong but he in no uncertain terms merely turned her down. She in turn vows to show him what he will be missing and turns into the ultimate party girl.

Years later Nic's grandfather has decided Nic and Jade are to get married in order for them both to inherit a large sum of money, Jade has no option but to face the insufferable Nic face to face, even though she knows facing him again will only bring back the painful memories and her love for him again.

So she confronts him,but Nic has his reasons for not wanting to marry this snobby "tart" after all she did sleep with is best friend and he finds her lifestyle totally disgusting. A woman who cant make her own money but instead relies on others whilst sleeping around and partying every night, just does not turn him on at all.

But Jade needs the money very desperately more than anyone knows and more than she is willing to reveal. Nic sees her as a money-grabbing, gold-digging, sleeps with any and every man kind of woman, and she sees him as the man she never should have fallen and exposed herself to.

But in the end Nic realises that he cant loose any part of the Sabbatini fortune and they do decide to marry for the sake of the money. But with the condition that Jade becomes a respectable lady as he does not want his wife to be flashed across newspapers leaving the homes of strange men.

Along the first weeks of their marriage Nic and Jade's attraction to each other builds and builds and finally erupts with the hot passion we have come to know from Melanie Milburne. But behind closed bedroom doors Nic discovers the real Jade, and he begins to understand why she pretends to be someone she is not.

Now it all comes down to if Nic will let Jade go after their arranged 1 year of marriage or will he fall as hard for her as she has for him from day one all those years ago?

In the final book of the Sabbatini Brothers Series Melanie Milburne shows us that not everything is as it seems and when you do not know the real person don't go judging them. The book compliments the first and second to down to a tee.

The entire series is one of hope, love, trust, true identity, secrets and pure passion.

This is the story of Nic Sabbattini the youngest of the Sabbatini brothers. Nic is the young, gorgeous, Italian super rich heart breaker. Jade had fallen in love with Nic when she was sixteen and because he rejected her she had sex with one of his friends. Jade was beautiful, sexy, talented and very dyslexic. Because of his grandfathers will Nic had to marry Jade, and since sparks had always flown between these two marriage was going to be no problem. This story was touching and sweet. You feel for this young woman who had no one who loved her except her brother who had died. Nic was wonderful and you really couldn't help loving him too. He was there for her and could not help falling in love with her in the end. I recommend this story highly.
