Being in a local band myself, this book struck many chords (!) with me. Superbly written and with so many laugh out loud anecdotes, it is a wonderful insight into the ups and downs of playing in a semi-professional band, and it definitely sounds like playing live music was a lot more fun and eventful in the sixties and seventies than it is today! This book would be a fantastic addition to the libraries of anybody, like me, who is involved in a local music scene, or indeed just interested in music generally. If, when my singing days are over, I've got half as many great anecdotes about my career as Ted puts down in these pages, then I'll be a very happy man. Anyway, why are you still reading this review? Get and buy the book, it's a much better piece of writing!
